Replacing the parking brake cable

To replace the brake cables and brake pads must first pretensioning automatic equalizer cables, and then weakening it (arrows, Fig. 8.27). Corroded or difficulty moving may cause uneven parking brake. On the old car it is recommended to replace the rear brake cables in pairs.

SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Raise and support the vehicle and remove the rear wheel.
2. Remove the brake disc rear wheel.
3. Remove the rear seat cushion.
4. Remove the protective cover in the center of the automatic equalizer.
5. Create pretension equalizer, which insert the Allen key in its center and rotate about a half-turn to the right (see. Fig. 12.27). At the same time, press down to lock the eccentric 3 clicks spring 4. Then again release the engagement with a screwdriver.
6. Disengage the return spring 5.
7. Remove the front cable 5 (see. Fig. 12.25) from the lever and release the lever.
8. Remove the rear cables 1 and 3 from the lever, loosen and slide in outlet openings.
9. Release the cable from each actuator arm pads rear brakes. To do this, remove the lock.
10. Remove the self-locking bolt from the inside. Remove the cable.
11. After reassembly, loosen the tension of the automatic equalizer and adjust the parking brake.
