PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Illustrative material on procedures for checking the discharge characteristics of the power steering pump is shown in the illustrations, which include all the links in the text.
  2. Open the lid (30g) and evacuate from the tank of the steering pump hydraulic fluid.
  3. Disconnect from the pump discharge hose expansion (30i) and connect to the last transition nozzle (038a).
  4. By fitting the pump, connect the adapter nozzle (038b).
  5. Connect the pressure gauge (039) between the transition nozzles (038a and 038b).
  6. Fill the tank with fresh power steering fluid to the required level.
  7. Start the engine and lift it up to 1000 revolutions per minute.
  8. Close the throttle valve (039a) and read the pressure gauge reading is the maximum working pressure of the pump GUR - try to consider reading as quickly as possible in order to avoid the risk of overheating the oil. Compare result of measurement with a nominal value (see. Specifications).
  9. Stop the engine and pump out the oil from the power steering reservoir.
  10. Remove the pressure gauge and restore the original connection of hydraulic lines - do not forget to replace the O-ring choke expansion hose connector (30i).
  11. Fill the reservoir of the required amount of fresh fluid (see chap. Power supply system and exhaust).
  12. Finally, visually check the hydraulic power steering tract for signs of leaks.
