Replacing brake fluid



Do not re-use a used brake fluid! Used brake fluid can be easily distinguished from fresh for a darker color.

In no case do not drain the brake fluid into the sewer and do not dispose of in containers for household waste! Inofrmatsiya by the rules of waste fluids is available at service stations.

Some of the tools required to perform the procedures described are the following:

  • Spanner to loosen the union of removal of air;
  • Transparent plastic hose inner diameter of 6 mm and a tank for collecting the brake fluid;
  • The required amount of brake fluid corresponding to the specifications;

Hydraulic fluid through the pores of the brake hoses and vents the tank of the main brake cylinder (GTZ) soaks in the atmosphere moisture, resulting in the operation of a vehicle gradually lowered the temperature of its boiling point, with the risk of reducing the effectiveness of the brakes as a result of active evaporation in a hydraulic path at high braking loads.

Replace the brake fluid should be performed at least once every two years, preferably in the spring.

When driving in hilly terrain replace the brake fluid should be more frequent.

On HUNDRED bleeding of the brake system is usually made by means of a special device, however, if necessary, pumping the brake path can be made, and with the help of the brake pedal, - need help assistant. Description of the procedure of pumping the brake system is given in Chapter Brakes and auxiliary systems.

The order of execution procedures

Following the reserve tank and a device for pumping

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the lid of the tank GTZ.
  1. With the help of a syringe or a rubber bulb pump out the liquid from the tank.
  2. Acting in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, connect the tank to the backup tank with brake fluid and a device for pumping tract (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
  3. Acting as well as the replacement of the hydraulic fluid drive differential lock (see. Section Replacing the drive fluid differential lock), turn drain old brake fluid through valves, pumping drums first, and then the disc brake.
  4. Disconnect the reserve capacity and a device for pumping, then screw and tighten the lid of the tank GTZ.

Without the use of the reserve tank and a device for pumping

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Replacing the brake fluid is made in the implementation of pumping hydraulic path (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems), - pumping should be done as long as the valves of the brake runs out clean and free from air bubbles in fresh brake fluid.

After replacing

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure of the strength of fixing the brake pipes and hoses all prescribed place. Check the tightening compression fittings and valves pumping. Check the fluid level in the reservoir GTZ.
  2. With the engine running, check the tightness of the system. For this purpose approximately 10 times on the pedal with a force of 200 - 300 N (corresponding to 20 - 30 kg). The brake pedal should not go back. Check for tightness of all connections.
  3. Finally, check the brakes on a road with light traffic transport. To do this, you must make at least one strong braking action of verifying ABS (sign operation ABS is an intense pulsing brake pedal during braking).

The effect of operation ABS is best seen on the roads without asphalt concrete pavement.
