Plate air flow meter
Lift height of the plate 18 (see. Fig. Scheme of fuel injection K-Jetronic) depends on the amount of air supplied to the engine: the greater the air flow, the higher the plate. When the lever 24 through the lever 25 moves the piston 22 upwards, which increases the amount of fuel supplied to the cylinders. When airflow is reduced, the plate 18 is lowered and accordingly the piston 22 moves downward, reducing the fuel supply. For better mixing plate 18 must be positioned exactly in the center of the diffuser.
Adjust the position of the plate can be as follows:
PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. Remove the air duct 8 (see. Fig. Air filter and intake pipe of the engine with the fuel injection system) with the corrugated tip, releasing the tightening of the yoke 6. | 2. If the plate 18 (see. Fig. Scheme of injection-Jetronic fuel K) is displaced, loosen the screws securing the plate. Inserting the probe around 0.1 mm thick plate to center it and tighten the screw. | 3. Raise and lower the plate 18 quickly to its original position. When going down should not feel resistance. If you feel resistance, then the air flow meter is defective and should be replaced. | 4. If resistance is felt when moving the plate up, remove the distributor 12 (see. Fig. Elements of the injection system Jetronic-K) of fuel, remove and rinse in gasoline piston 14. If that does not help and the resistance when driving up plate will be felt, replace the fuel distributor. | 5. Release the pressure in the fuel rail, as described before (see. P. 4, subsection 3.2.6). Then, check the position of the plate 18 (see. Fig. Scheme of injection-Jetronic fuel K) in the diffuser. The top face of the plate should be flush with the face of the diffuser. It is assumed that the plate was lower faces of the diffuser is not more than 0.5 mm. | | 6. If the plate is inferior or conversely, above the verge of the diffuser plate must be adjusted in height position. To raise this plate and bend the wire guide located underneath, as shown in riseunke. | 7. After adjustment, check the idling speed and the level of CO in the exhaust gases. |
