Sensor incorporating fan

Verifying the sensor in the following order:

Elements of cooling
Fig. 4.4. Elements of cooling systems: 1 - a bolt; 2 - the top cover; 3 - an air inlet; 4 - mounting bracket; 5 - the radiator; 6 - the rubber ring; 7 - a sealing ring; 8 - thermal switch; 9 - the plug; 10 - a hose; 11 - expansion tank; 12 - housing; 13 - an arm of the fans; 14 - a nut; 15 - additional fan; 16 - the main fan; 17 - the bottom hose; 18 - the drive belt; 19 - the top hose

- Disconnect the electric plug from the sensor 8 (see. Fig. 4.4);
- Using a piece of wire the appropriate length, connect the two pins in the removed connector;
- If the radiator fan is turned on, it means that the fan is faulty sensor, and must be replaced;
- If the radiator fan is not working when the contacts of the sensor, it is necessary to check the serviceability of the engine cooling fan and the leads;
- To check the sensor lower it into the water tank so that the water was only working sensor part with a thread and the electrical contacts are above water. Connect an ohmmeter to terminal contacts the sensor. Heat the water and check the temperature at which the sensor is enabled (meter should show a short circuit). Cool the water and check the temperature at which the sensor turns off. If the temperature sensor on and off is not correct, replace the sensor.
Removal and installation of the sensor in the following order:
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery;
- Drain the cooling system;
- Disconnect the electrical connector
- Remove the sensor 8 (see. Fig. 4.4) from the radiator 5 and gasket 7.
Installation Removal of elements made in sequence, return to removal.
