Thermostat



Removing the thermostat in the following order:

- The thermostat 2 (see. Fig. 4.1) and 3 (see. Fig. 4.2) is located in the base of the water pump;
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system;
- Unscrew the two screws and remove the thermostat;
- Remove the O-ring;
- Remove the thermostat from the body at the bottom of the water pump.

A WARNING
Before removing the thermostat, mark its position in the housing.

Check the thermostat in the following order:

- If the thermostat is in an open position (Fig. 4.5) at room temperature, then it must be replaced;

- To check the thermostat lower to the splits in a container with water (Fig. 4.6). Gradually heating the water, measure the temperature at which the thermostat starts to open and is fully open. Remove the thermostat from the water and check that it is completely closed after cooling. Replace the thermostat if its parameters are different from the specifications.
The thermostat setting in the following order:
- Clean the thermostat housing and the mating surfaces;
- Set the thermostat to the body in the position in which the thermostat is before removal;
- Install a new O-ring;
- Replace the cover and tighten bolts to torque;
- Set the water hoses, bracket, power steering pump;
- Set the pump drive belt;
- Fill the cooling system with liquid.
