Battery



Explanation of the symbols on the battery label

1 - If the battery maintenance is necessary to observe the safety instructions set out in the manual.
2 - The battery has a corrosive acid and should be careful to not acid spilled from the battery.
3 - Do not use an open flame near the battery.
4 - When working with the battery Use protective goggles.
5 - Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
6 - When disposing of the battery hand over only to designated points.
7 - Do not dispose of the battery along with household waste.
8 - The gases emitted during battery charging are explosive.

The battery is installed in the rear of the engine compartment at the base of the windscreen.
A warning

When disconnecting the battery terminals in the blocks of memory controllers erased data recorded faults, so before disconnecting the battery terminals, it is desirable to address in a specialized workshop for the Memory Recall recorded in her fault. After connecting the battery terminals should be intensified and reprogram the power windows and the position of the door mirrors and seats.

Also, if the car is equipped with a radio code before disconnecting the battery terminals, check that you have the code to reactivate the receiver. Otherwise, enter the radio operation will be possible only at special stations for Volkswagen.


When installing a new battery, use only the battery with the withdrawal of gases from the battery's performance. See Figure. Connect the hose to bring gas from the accumulator generated by its operation.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Open the hood.
3. Remove the negative terminal of the battery and move it to the side.
4. Remove the protective cover, loosen and remove the positive terminal of the battery.
5. At the bottom of the battery, unscrew the bolt and remove the battery mounting plate.
6. Move the battery to the side, while the second side freed mount the battery, and remove the battery from the engine compartment.
7. The battery has a sticker with warning symbols, see. Fig. Explanation of the symbols on the battery label.

Setting
A warning

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Place the battery on one side of the support bracket. See fig. Elements of fastening of the battery.
2. From the second side of the battery and attach the screw its bolt, having tightened its moment of 20 Nm.
3. Check for loose battery as otherwise the battery life can be significantly reduced.
4. Connect to the positive terminal of the battery first, then negative, and secure them by tightening the nuts to 5 Nm.
5. If the car is equipped with radio code, re-reprogram it.
6. Set the time on the clock.
7. Activate the power windows.
7a. Close the door to the outside of the vehicle through the driver's or front passenger door. Make sure the windows and doors are securely closed.
7b. Re-close the vehicle key, while the hold switch in the closed position at least one second.
A warning

If there is a defect in the power window, the backlight control buttons on the door will flash.


8. Activate the memory function outside mirrors and seats.
8a. Open the driver's door.
8b. Turn on the ignition.
8c. The control button to move the driver seat forward and upward until it stops.
8d. Control buttons backrest driver seat all the way forward.
8d. Turn off the ignition.
