The starter motor is a direct current with the mixed excitation with an electromagnetic driving relay. The starter consists of a body or stator windings excitation armature Freewheel, covers with brush holder and the traction relay.

The starter is activated by pulling the starter relay coil current begins to flow from the battery. Anchor switch is pulled, and the relay contacts are closed. Simultaneously the relay anchor through the lever moves the overrunning clutch with the gear. Hub freewheel turns screw slots armature shaft starter gear rotates as well, making it easier to enter it into engagement with the flywheel. Through the closed contacts of the traction relay is a current feeding the stator windings and the armature and the starter anchor starts to rotate together with a nave and overrunning clutch.

After starting the engine speed exceeds the speed gear anchor of a starter. In this case, one way clutch rotates freely and no torque is transmitted from the flywheel to the shaft of the armature of a starter. After releasing the ignition feed circuit winding traction relay through the ignition switch is opened, the anchor of the traction relay is wrung out by a spring in its original position, the relay opens and the drive gear is disengaged from the flywheel.

Withdrawal
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off the ignition and remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Tighten a manual brake, then lift the front of the car and fix on supports.
3. Remove the bottom mudguard of the engine.
4. On the terminal 50 of the traction relay Remove the electrical connector. See Fig. Arrangement of contacts on the back of the traction relay.
5. Disconnect the wire from the plug 30 traction relays.
6. Loosen the clamp that secures the heat protection plate starter.
7. Remove the bolt bracket support the rear of the starter to the engine block, see. Fig. Arrangement of bolts of fastening of an arm supporting the rear of the starter.
8. Remove the two nuts (arrow B) securing the starter to the bracket and remove the bracket.
9. Remove the bolt (1) M12h90 securing the upper part of the starter, and the bolt (2) M12h67 securing the bottom of the starter to the gearbox housing.
10. Remove the starter from the gearbox and pull it out from under the car.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Set the starter and fix its bolts, having tightened their moment of 65 Nm. Keep in mind that the starter mounting bolts are of different lengths.
2. Place the bracket that supports the back of the starter and secure with bolts and nuts. Tighten the bolts to 22 Nm, and a nut 4 Nm.
3. Tighten the clamp plate heat protection starter.
4. Screw the wire to the terminal 30 of the traction relay and tighten the fastening torque of 30 Nm.
5. Connect the electrical connector to the terminal 50.
6. Establish the bottom mudguard of the engine.
7. Connect the ground cable to the battery.
