Checking the coolant level



The coolant level should be between the marks ?�Max?� and ?�Min?� on the expansion tank (Fig. 11). When cold, the coolant level should be up to the mark ?�Min?�. If the engine is hot, the level can rise up to the mark ?�Max?�. It may be necessary to wait until the liquid is cooled down, then refill it. If the engine is hot, it is necessary to unscrew the cover to the first stop and wait for the pressure drop. Then completely unscrew the cap. Use the recommended firm Volkswagen antifreeze G11 or other high-quality liquid. When using a liquid consisting of 50% water and 50% antifreeze, the engine will save operation at temperatures down to minus 35 ?� C.
