Clutch Cable

The clutch is actuated by a clutch cable. Adjustment is carried out automatically on the counter support of the cable in the engine compartment on the upper side of the gearbox housing, free travel of clutch pedal does not require additional adjustment. If you turn off the clutch when a problem arises, before starting other work necessary to verify the correctness of the adjustment as follows:
"Go" scheme mechanism clutch pedal and make sure that it has not received any damage;
- Press the clutch pedal at least five times until it stops;

Moving the lever when checking adjustment

- At the fastening rope clutch operation indicated in Fig. 141, the clutch lever to move approximately 10 mm in a direction opposite to the normal working stroke. The lever should move freely. During the test it is important to pre-press five times on the pedal to adjust the mechanism could work. If the lever can not move, you have to change the cable.

When replacing the clutch pedal, proceed as follows (Fig. 140 shows the routing of the cable):
- Press the clutch pedal at least five times until it stops;
- To remove a wire of "weight" from the accumulator. If the car is equipped with a car radio theft protection device, it should be remembered that to turn on the radio after connecting the battery you need to know the security code;

Removing the clutch cable
Fig. 142. Removing clutch cable

- On the basis of Fig. 142 to pull the rope clutch operation sharp jerk in the direction A of the mount on the lever of the clutch;
- Pressing the outer shell in the direction B toward the front wall as long as not achieve full compression cable adjustment mechanism at the location of the rubber cuffs;

Securing the rope drive gearbox

- On the basis of Fig. 143, disconnect the cable from the mount on the gearbox. To do this, hold the clutch cable with one hand and pull the cable retainer 3 from the mount;

Removing the glovebox
Fig. 144. Removing the glovebox

- Remove the storage compartment located on the bottom left side of the driver. These are not simple. First, you need to click on the indicated in Fig. 144 stops in the direction of the arrows, and then unscrew the two screws indicated in Fig. 145. Remove the relay panel mounting. Do not disconnect while the wires from terminals;

Bolts glovebox

- Remove the cover with the clutch pedal assembly jig;
- Disconnect the cable from the clutch pedal and pull it out of the car. The end of the rope is held by a guide roller in the clutch pedal. Rubber sealing sleeve 5 (see. Fig. 140) is in the front wall, that is necessary to extend the cable (push) through it carefully. Otherwise, during the installation of a cable would have to compress the rubber cover. Installation of the cable is carried out in reverse order of removal, subject to the following points:
- Securing a place on the clutch pedal to grease a small amount of plastic graphite lubricant and push the clutch pedal through the front wall. When you exit the rubber sealing sleeve out again to return it to the place of installation. Strictly ensure that the cable installation is not subjected to bending, as otherwise it adversely affect the automatic adjustment of the clutch mechanism. Secure the cable with metal parts (Screw metal corners, crimp wire metal clamp). Fig. 147 shows how to install and fasten the rope;

Install clutch cable

- Set on the end of the cable pulley in the pedal, as shown in Fig. 146;

Installing the roller end of the cable to the clutch pedal
Fig. 146. Setting the roller end of the cable to the clutch pedal

- Fasten the ends of the rope as shown in Fig. 143 on the gearbox and secure the cable to the mounting assembly. In this stretch the cover of a cable 2 in the direction of travel and set the rubber damper in the clutch lever 1;

A warning
If a cable cover in the direction of stretch is not possible, then it is in the cable should be several times to push back and forth until you can squeeze the plug at the location in the rubber sleeve shown on Fig. 142. If the shell is still not possible to combine with each other, it is necessary to try again actuate the cable adjustment mechanism, as described in the final part of this section.

- Replace the cover assembly jig;
- Set the relay panel in the holder. Carefully check the clamps of fastening of wires and relays;
- Press several times in a row on the clutch pedal;
- After installation to test the cable adjustment mechanism as described above;
- Reconnect the battery. If necessary, enter security code radio.
