The electronic control unit
ECU is the central engine control unit. It receives information from the sensors and controls the actuators, ensuring optimum engine performance. ECU is located under the console, instrument panel in the car.
A warning ECU is a complicated electronic device. During the operation and maintenance of the car dismantling of the ECU is prohibited. |
ECU receives from the sensors, through the Multi-plug connector the following data: from the starter terminals 50 - enter the data about the beginning and end of the work the starter; from the throttle potentiometer (located in the throttle body) receives information about the position of the throttle at the moment. Thereby it performed, particularly injection cutoff control, as long as the throttle is at idle and the rotational speed remains unchanged, stops the supply of fuel to the engine. In addition, the fuel supply is switched off during braking the motor and enriches the mixture at full load; from the Hall sensor (located on the side of the cylinder head and is driven by the camshaft) receives information about the speed of the engine crankshaft. It provides a shutdown and startup of the electric current, thereby forming a spark; from the lambda probe (located in front of the exhaust system) receives information about the content of oxygen in the exhaust gas at a given time; from the MAF sensor receives information about the amount of supplied air to the engine; from the coolant temperature sensor (located in the pipe above the coolant thermostat) receives information about the coolant temperature, and serves to adjust the ignition timing and injection time in the cold and hot engine. Based on the testimony of the sensor is adjustable knock, exhaust gas recirculation and idle speed; two knock sensors (mounted in the cylinder block) is informed as to which of the cylinders is inclined to knock (uncontrolled combustion of the fuel mixture). They allow the ECU to regulate the fuel injection and ignition timing for each cylinder in a given row and sync pulses compression. For more information about them can be found in (see. Section 8). Constantly getting the above information on the number of revolutions of the engine, engine operation and its temperature, the ECU calculates the injection time, i.e. the duration of the opening of the nozzles and produces the exact dosage amount of fuel injected. The control device integrated so-called universal details, which contain information about all possible conditions and modes of operation of the engine, on the basis of their choice to precisely the amount of fuel, and corresponding to the ignition timing. If there is a fluctuation of the intake air temperature and coolant temperature, then made the appropriate adjustment.
