Check the Hall sensor

Hall sensor on the VR6 engine is located in front of the cylinder head. In normal operation, electronic engine based on a signal from the Hall sensor detects the ignition timing for the first cylinder. If the signal is not received, the cylinders can not be performed detonation regulation. In this case, the regulation of off detonation and ignition timing exhibit with some delay, to avoid detonation.
Check the Hall sensor is conducted as follows.
Engine VR6:
- Disconnect the wires from the transformer HV high voltage and remove the guide wire from the transformer HV;

Position the plug Hall sensor pads on the VR6 engine
Fig. 216. The position of the plug Hall sensor pads on the VR6 engine

- Disconnect the electrical connector (Fig. 216, indicated by arrow) of the Hall sensor;

Check the Hall sensor on the motor VR6. "1", "2", "3" - terminal numbers plug pads
Fig. 217. Check the Hall sensor on the motor VR6. "1", "2", "3" - terminal numbers plug pads

- Connect a voltmeter to terminal "1" and terminal "3" (Fig. 217) plug Hall sensor pads. The voltage should be at least 11.5;
- If it is not, contact the service station.
The 2.0-liter engine:

Elements of the ignition system on a 2.0-liter engine (with fuel injection Simos)
Fig. 210. Elements of the ignition system on a 2.0-liter engine (with fuel injection Simos): 1 - HV wire to the spark plug; 2 - plug suppressing interference; 3 - a protective cover; 4 - a cover of the distributor of ignition; 5 - Rotor, distributor; 6 - three-prong plug connector; 7 - dust cover; 8 - the ignition distributor with Hall sensor; 9 - O-shaped sealing ring; 10 - presser rail; 11 - a bolt, 25 Nm; 12 - a spark plug 30 Nm; 13 - a tip of the HV wire on the spark plug; 14 - bolt 20 Nm; 15 - knock sensor (G61); 16 - high-voltage transformer (152 N); 17 - the output stage of the high voltage transformer (N157); 18 - terminal "15"; 19 - terminal "1"

- Disconnect the electrical connector 6 (see. Fig. 210) from the ignition distributor 8;

Check the Hall sensor on the 2.0-liter engine
Fig. 218. Check the Hall sensor on the 2.0-liter engine

- Connect a voltmeter between the external terminal block plug (Fig. 218). The voltage should be at least 10.0;
- If it is not, contact the service station.
