Design features an off-road vehicle

Four wheel drive
Four-wheel drive does not require any special maintenance.

NOTE
With all-wheel drive all four wheels are leading.

Torque transmission is constantly performed on all four wheels. The torque value and its distribution along the axes occurs automatically depending on the particular road conditions.

Winter tires
Thanks to all-wheel drive car equipped with serial tires shows on winter roads quite good dynamic qualities. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend that you always winter on all four wheels to set winter or all-season tires, because it significantly increases driving safety significantly improved braking performance of the car.

Anti-skid chains
In the presence of the laws on compulsory use of snow chains should be installed on all-wheel drive; put the chain on the front wheels.

Replacement tires
In vehicles with four-wheel drive can not stand with varying degrees of tire wear. All four tires should have the same way of running, ie pieces of the path traveled by bus for one revolution.

The reduced level of transmission ?LOW?

Schematic representation
Fig. 1.123. Schematic representation: included reduced level of transmission ?LOW? when locked center differential

The reduced level of transmission can also be used with the differential locked (Fig. 1.123).

NOTE
The lower level with a large transmission gear ratio serves to provide maximum power to the wheels when driving off-road.

Since the system ESP, ASR, ABS and EDS When the low level of transmission change the program of action, when driving on normal roads this level can not be used.

The inclusion of low level transmission ?LOW? (with automatic transmission)
Reduce the speed below 15 km / h.
Turn the button on the ?LOW?.
Move the selector to position N.
Wait approximately one second.
Including one of the movement positions (R, D or S).

The inclusion of low level transmission ?LOW? (for mechanical transmission)
Stop the car.
Turn the button on the ?LOW?.
Put the gear lever in neutral.
Wait approximately one second.
Turn transmission.

Turning off the low level of transmission when moving
Reduce the speed below 40 km / h.
Turn the key on ?HIGH?.
Move the selector to position N.
Wait approximately one second.
Turn on one of the positions forward (D or S).

Turning off the low level of transmission when the vehicle is stationary
Turn the key on ?HIGH?.
Keep the vehicle in place with the brake pedal.
Move the selector to position N.
Wait approximately one second.
Including one of the movement positions (R, D or S).
The maximum speed which can move at low level included ?LOW?, is determined by the motor model. Speed limit is in the range from about 70 to 100 km / h.
It is best manifested in the reduced level of the following situations:
- When the trailer travels on the road;
- When the car breaks in severe off-road conditions;
- Especially when overcoming steep ascents.
It does not include a reduced level of transmission on snowy roads.
The inclusion of low level transmission is carried out by turning the knob to position ?LOW? - flashes logo ?LOW?. The inclusion may be slightly delayed. If the stage ?LOW? included automatically logo ?LOW? remains lit. In addition, the display 'dashboard appears appropriate indication.
Since the stage included ?LOW? the maximum torque at the wheels on cars with manual transmission, you can drive off in 2nd or 3rd gear.

Traction control (ASR)
When the low level automatically activates special designed for off-road action program traction control systems, improve the conditions of traction with the ground. This is often not necessary in most driving situations manually disable protivozanosnaya system.
When speed is below 70 km / h operation of the traction control system is somewhat delayed. The terms of the ground engaging When the low-level improved.

Protivozanosnaya ESP system
On starting the engine protivozanosnaya system automatically turns on.

NOTE
By protivozanosnoy system significantly increases driving stability and handling in the boundary conditions of motion.

When the system is activated protivozanosnoy mountain brake on descent.

ESP key in the center console
Fig. 1.124. ESP key in the center console

Protivozanosnaya system should always be included. Only in certain situations when wheel slip is desired, it is possible by pressing (ESP) disable the ESP (Fig. 1.124).
For example:
- When driving with snow chains;
- When driving in deep snow or loose ground;
- When rocking a stuck vehicle.
Then pressing protivozanosnaya system should be on again.
If you turn off the system at the same time protivozanosnoy disabled traction control system ASR and traction control system on top of the engine slippage of the drive wheels MSR, as well as the mountain brake on descent. This means that a number of systems are not active or active for the modified program (Traction Control EDS) as long as the system is turned off protivozanosnaya.

When the button is lit or flashing
The key lights up when the ignition is approximately two seconds when checking the performance.
Key flashes while driving when operating protivozanosnaya system.
The key lights up when a fault protivozanosnoy system.
The key lights up when the system is off protivozanosnaya.

Retarder for descent
Before beginning the descent of a steep mountain to slow down to less than 20 km / h.

NOTE
Automatically activated exhaust brake helps the driver to descend on slopes greater than 20%.

Let the car roll down with gear.
Do not press the gas pedal.
At the same time the vehicle speed through the exhaust brake only remains constant when the road surface is not slippery, and sufficient traction.
When descending a steep hill when the vehicle braking motor (and brake pedal) begins to spin out of control, the corresponding wheel retarding exhaust brake so that the vehicle speed becomes constant, and the behavior of the vehicle is stabilized.
This requires that there is sufficient traction with the ground or road surface. Thus, the exhaust brake for the shutter does not perform its functions when the car is moving on icy or covered with mud descent.
Mountain brake for lowering effect when turned on and is functioning smoothly protivozanosnaya system speeds do not exceed 20 km / h, including the transmission and do not press the gas pedal.
Mountain brake does not work when the gas pedal is pressed, gearbox in neutral position, the clutch pedal is pressed, the system is disabled protivozanosnaya or posted speed exceeds 20 km / h.

Mountain brake for lifting
Mountain brake is automatically activated when the following conditions are met simultaneously:
- The car was stopped and held on the rise and working parking brake;
- The engine running;
- Is on 1st gear or reverse gear (for upward movement);
- The clutch pedal is fully depressed.

NOTE
Retarder easier to lift the driver pull away on the rise.

The car slowed down and held on the rise - when the clutch pedal is fully depressed - by the exhaust brake, even when the brake pedal is released and the parking brake is loosened. When the clutch brake is automatically released in doses, thereby achieving easy and safe to pull away on the rise.
Before driving on a steep rise in off-road conditions Make sure that both the differential was blocked.
