Towing



When using towline should be guided by these operating instructions.

The driver of the towing vehicle
Begin the movement smoothly, gradually to the cable taut. Then carefully add gas.
When moving from place to release the clutch particularly gently, and with an automatic transmission, let the gas slowly.
Remember that on towed vehicle power steering and brakes are not working. Brake early and gently.

Remove the towing eye and the wheel wrench (Fig. 1.152).
Fold down the front cover and leave it hanging.

Pry the back cover with a screwdriver (Fig. 1.153), and leave it hanging.
Screw the eyelet counterclockwise until it stops in the corresponding threaded hole.
Tighten the lug using the lug wrench.

Tow rope or tow Hard
It is better to use a hard tug. Only when there is no hard tug, use a tow rope.
The tow rope must be elastic enough to prevent damage to both vehicles. Use of synthetic fiber rope or other flexible material.
Attach the tow rope or hard lift only provided for the lifting eyes.

Motion
Towing requires expertise, especially when using a towline. Both drivers should be familiar with the peculiarities of driving when towing. Inexperienced drivers should not operate any of the cars.
When driving need to constantly ensure that there were no jerks and great loosening cable. When towing a car on the edge of an improved dirt road there is always the danger that the shoulder will be overloaded and destroyed.
The ignition of the towed vehicle should be included to avoid blocked steering and could use the turn indicators, audible signal, wiper and washer.
Since the brake booster when the engine does not work, the driver must depress the brake pedal harder than usual.
As well as the power steering does not work when you turn should put more effort on the steering wheel.

Towing vehicles with automatic transmission
In accordance with the rules of the road turn on the outside lights.

NOTE
When towing, observe traffic regulations.

A car with an automatic gearbox can not start towing.
Take into account the characteristics of the towing wheel drive vehicle.
If a faulty gearbox of the car there is no oil, so the car can be towed only from the driving wheel.
When towing a distance of 50 km should tow the car to a driving wheel.
In the absence of current in the on-board network steering system remains blocked. This car should be towed with the front wheels.
When a faulty air suspension ground clearance is very small. Towing hung out with one axis is not possible.

Towing-wheel drive vehicle
Before tow-wheel drive car, once again read the general instructions. When towing the car all-wheel drive, consider the following:
- The speed of the vehicle must not exceed 50 km / h. Towing distance should not exceed 50 km;
- The car can not be towed with the front or rear wheels.

NOTE
If normal or if towing is impossible towed more than 50 km, the car must be transported on a tow truck.

Your car should be raised only by those places that are shown in Figure 1.154.
