Manual gear changes - ?Tiptronic? (selector)

NOTE
The system ?Tiptronic? gives the driver the ability to manually shift.

Selector in position manual
Fig. 1.112. Selector in position manual

To position D, move the selector right to activate the ?Tiptronic? (Fig. 1.112).
Gently push the lever forward + to a higher gear.
Gently push the selector back - to include lower transmission.
In the dispersal automatic gearbox switches automatically to 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 assists in the higher gear just before the moment when the engine attains the maximum permissible speed.
If you select a lower gear, the switch will occur only when there is no danger of engine twist.
Manual gear changes - ?Tiptronic? (levers on the steering wheel)
If the selector is in position D or S, then under the influence of one of the levers on the steering wheel, automatic transmission switches to manual mode ?Tiptronic?.

Manual gearshift levers
Fig. 1.113. Manual gearshift levers

Pull the right lever + the steering wheel to shift up (Fig. 1.113).
Pull the lever to the left - to the steering wheel to shift down.
Approximately 15 sposle last exposure to one of the levers gearbox automatically switches to the previously selected programs D or S.
In the dispersal automatic gearbox switches automatically to 1, 2, 3 and 4 gear to a higher gear just before the moment when the engine attains the maximum permissible speed.
If you select a lower gear, the switch will occur only when there is no danger of engine twist.

Position of the selector is shown as a side view from the selector and display on the instrument panel (Fig. 1.114).

NOTE
The display in the instrument panel shows the position of the selector and gear.

Indication of the gear in manual operation.

On the dashboard

If the gear shift was performed manually operated ?Tiptronic?, the display is only an indication of the transfer (Fig. 1.115).

P - Parking (parking) lock
In this situation, the selector wheel drive vehicle is mechanically locked.
Translate the selector in the position of the parking lock will be possible only when nepodvizhnomavtomobile.
In the transition to the position P and the exit from it is necessary to press the lock button (in the handle of the selector) and simultaneously press the brake pedal.
When discharged battery output selector from position P does not succeed.

R - Reverse
In this position selector reverse gear is engaged.
Translate the selector in the position of backing will be possible only when the vehicle is stationary and the engine idling.
In the transition to the position of R is necessary to press the lock button and simultaneously press the brake pedal. The selector position R at the ignition on burning reversing lights.

N - Neutral
At this position of the selector transmission it is in idle mode; No power transmission to the driving wheels and no engine braking.
Never move the selector to position N for driving downhill - thus there is no engine braking. The service braking system is experiencing too much stress.
When driving downhill at the selector position N and the engine switched off can damage the automatic transmission.

D - Position for a long forward (normal program)
In this position selector all forward gears are automatically switched up and down. Character switching determined by the load of the engine, your driving style and speed. When driving in the mountains in such a position selector engine braking capabilities are minimal. The display shows the selected position of the selector D and included the transfer of the moment.
While translating the selector from the N position to position D at speeds below 5 km / h and the vehicle is stationary must press the brake pedal.

S - Position for a long forward (sports program)
At this position of the selector all forward gears are automatically switched after the up and down early to make full use of engine power. Character switching determined by the load of the engine, your driving style and speed. When driving in the mountains in such a position selector engine braking capabilities are minimal. The display shows the selected position of the selector S, and is currently included in the transfer.

ATTENTION
When driving the vehicle with the engine turned off and the selector in position N fails the automatic transmission due to lack of lubrication.

NOTE
If while driving you accidentally moved the selector in position N, you must take your foot off the gas pedal and wait for the idling of the engine before returning the selector back to position D.
Lock selector

NOTE
Lock prevents accidental transfer selector lever in one of the positions and movements, thereby moving off uncontrolled vehicle off.

To unlock the selectors, press and hold the brake pedal and simultaneously press the lock button on the left side of the selector lever.
Lock the selector is on only when the vehicle is stationary and at speeds of up to 5 km / h. At higher speeds the lock lever in the N position is automatically switched off.
When translating through selector position N (e.g., from R to D) is not blocked by the selector. This makes it possible, for example, "rocking" the vehicle got stuck. If the selector when the brake pedal is not pressed more than one second in the position N, the lock for the selector.
