Shock Absorber Throttle

Adjusting the throttle damper

A warning

Only for cars with manual transmission, equipped with 4-cylinder (up to 5/93) and 5-cylinder petrol engine (up to 12/92 city)

Shock throttle prevents a sudden closing of the throttle when the accelerator is released, ie. A. The sudden closing followed to exhaust toxic gas due to incomplete combustion of fuel.

Test condition: Throttle basic setting is normal. Usually this is the case, ie. To. Stop screw (arrow) is set and sealed at the factory. This screw is in any case can not be rotated.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the hose from the crankcase ventilation inlet pipe.
2. Open and close the throttle until the damper pusher (2) touches the roller (3).
3. In this position, check the clearance between the stop screw (arrow) and the throttle lever. For this we can use a drill of suitable diameter. Required value cm. In section 2.18.8.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the drill bit with a diameter of 2.0 mm between the stop screw (arrow) and the throttle lever (1).
2. Adjust the throttle damper, so that the pusher (2) has just touched the roller (3).
