Turbocharging

Exhaust system and turbocharger

1. Connection tube - with a plug for checking boost pressure
2. Laying - Floor (thickening) indicates the inlet pipe
3. The intake pipe - with connection for reverse flow of exhaust gases
4. Bolt 25 Nm.
5. Bolt 45 Nm. - On the thread and the adjacent surface of the head strike means 000,500 VWG
6. Laying - pay attention to the mounting position, respectively, the outline fit

The diesel engine of 1.9 liters (68 hp.. / 50 kW) is equipped with a turbocharger. In the case of turbo, on the same shaft sit two turbine wheels, each of which is in a separate building. The turbine wheel driven by exhaust gas and rotates with the shaft 120 reaches 000 rev / min. Since the rotor and the rotor exhaust gas sucked in air sitting on the same shaft, the clean air is pumped intensively into the engine cylinders.

Thanks to a good degree of filling at the existing engines takes place almost 100% implementation capacity. The increase in power depends inter alia on the boost pressure, which is the engine of the car is 0.4-0.8 bar (tire pressure for example about 1.8 bar). If the boost pressure exceeds the adjusted at the factory, the check valve opens and relieves the pressure supercharging.

In addition to the increase in power, while a turbocharged torque is also increased, which is very desirable for the flexible operation of the engine. Provided, of course, that the turbocharger shaft has a sufficiently large momentum and thus provide sufficient discharge. Typically, enough motor 2500 rev / min, to sense manifold pressure.

Unlike a gasoline engine, the diesel engine is not required because of the pressurization to reduce the normal compression ratio, so even at low revs injected fuel is fully utilized.

Turbocharger system is very accurate. Therefore, it is best to repair to professionals. Typically, when a fault, turbocharging systems replaced completely.
