Ribbed Belts



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Loosen the bolts of the water pump pulley.
2. Loosen the nuts generator support.
3. Loosen the bolt of the generator and remove the V-ribbed belt.
4. Remove the bolts of the water pump pulley.

Torque:
The hinge bolt (A) securing the generator: 20-25 N ??? m Bolt (B) fastening of the generator: 15-22 N ??? m bracket bolts of the generator: 20-28 N ??? m

Check

Check the following items and the presence of defects replace them.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the surface of the V-ribbed belt for damage and cracks.
2. Check the surface of the V-ribbed belt in the absence of oil and grease.
3. Examine the surface of the V-ribbed belt on the absence of uneven wear.
4. Check the surface of the pulley for cracks or damage.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the pump pulley and secure it with screws.
2. Set the pump pulley and secure it with screws.

Check and adjust the tension

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the V-belt and its location on the pulleys.

A warning

Check the location of the edges of the V-ribbed belt pulley groove.
If the V-ribbed belt makes unusual noise, check the belt for wear and damage, as well as working surfaces of pulleys.


2. The special device measure a tension of the alternator drive belt. In the absence of a special tool, check the belt tension, having pressed on it effort of 100 N (10 kg) in a place located on identical removal from pulleys and measure a belt deflection.

Deflection alternator drive belt tension when checking:
New belt: 7.5-9.0 mm / / 64-73 kg
Second hand strap: 9,0-10,4 mm / / 39 kg
Check: 5.0-6.0 mm / 34-49 kg
Deflection of a belt drive alternator and power steering pump when checking the tension:
New belt: 8mm
Second hand belt: 6.0-7.0 mm
Deflection of a belt drive alternator and air conditioner when checking the tension:
New belt: 6.0-9.0 mm
Second hand strap: 9.0-10.0 mm


A warning

Reused belt is considered to be a belt, worked on the engine for more than 5 minutes.



Tension measurement special device

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. When measuring the tension device wedge a belt must not touch the other components of the engine.
2. Adjust the belt tension or deflection of the power steering pump.
3. Tighten the adjusting bolt.
4. Rotate the crankshaft several turns.
5. Check the belt tension and, if necessary, repeat the adjustment.
