The control lamp fault (MIL)

Control lamp MIL illuminates if there is fault in the engine management system. However, the MIL is not illuminate after three starts of the engine if the fault is fixed before is no longer there. After turning on the ignition (to start the engine) warning lamp stays on, indicating that the normal operation of the system fault diagnosis. The warning lamp with the system "OBD-II" lights up when a fault in the system the following elements:

- The catalytic converter;
- The fuel system;
- Air flow meter;
- The temperature sensor to the engine air;
- Coolant temperature;
- The throttle position sensor;
- Oxygen sensor;
- The oxygen sensor heater;
- The fuel injectors;
- Engine misfiring;
- Sensor crank angle;
- The camshaft position sensor;
- EVAP system;
- Vehicle speed sensor;
- Control valve idle speed;
- Electric power;
- ECM;
- Breach of the functioning of the gearbox;
- Acceleration sensor;
- The request signal MIL.

The indicator lamp without a system of "OBD-II" lights up when a fault in the system the following elements:

- Heated oxygen sensor;
- Absolute pressure sensor in the intake manifold;
- The throttle position sensor;
- Coolant temperature;
- Modulator control the speed of the crankshaft of the engine idling;
- The fuel injectors;
- ECM.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. After turning on the ignition warning lamp lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out.
2. If the warning light does not come on, check the electrical circuit lamp, the fuses and the condition of the lamp.

Self-diagnosis

The ECM constantly monitors the input and output signals and other signals under certain conditions. When a fault is detected, the ECM records DTC in memory and provides the output code to the diagnostic socket. Diagnostic codes can be read using a control lamp MIL or scanner HI-SCAN. Diagnostic codes remain in the memory before disconnecting the wires from the battery terminals, or by disconnecting the ECM, as well as to erase them with a scanner HI-SCAN.
A warning

If the connector is disconnected when the ignition is in the memory will be recorded fault code DTC. In this case, disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery for longer than 15 seconds, resulting in a diagnostic memory will be erased.
