Disassembly, inspection, assembly and installation of the main brake cylinder



The main brake cylinder

Withdrawal
Disconnect the connector brake fluid level.
Disconnect the master cylinder brake pipes. Install the plug in the open holes.
Unscrew the nuts and remove the brake cylinder.

ATTENTION
Immediately remove spilled brake fluid with painted surfaces.

Dismantling
Remove the lid and drain the brake fluid.

Remove the screws that secure the tank and use a screwdriver to remove the tank from brake master cylinder seals (Fig. 6.33).

Remove the retaining ring (Fig. 6.34).

Removal of restrictive primary piston pin

Remove the restraining finger of the primary piston, pushing the piston with a screwdriver. Remove the primary piston (Fig. 6.35).

Removal of restrictive finger secondary piston

Remove the restraining finger of the secondary piston, pushing the piston with a screwdriver. Remove the secondary piston (Fig. 6.36).

NOTE
Primary and secondary pistons can not be disassembled.

Check
Check the condition of the cylinder bore (teaser, rust).
Please rate the degree of wear of the cylinder, replace it if necessary.

NOTE
If the bore is damaged, replace the brake master cylinder assembly.
Details of the main brake cylinder washed with alcohol.

Assembly
When installing, lubricate all parts with clean brake fluid.

Carefully place the spring and the piston in the cylinder. Make sure that the placement of parts was correct (Fig. 6.37).

Install locking ring

Push the plunger with a screwdriver and install the retaining ring (Fig. 6.38).
Push the plunger until all spring and set restrictive finger.
Install the seal tank.

Install the brake master cylinder reservoir (Fig. 6.39).

Setting
Install the brake master cylinder to the brake servo.
Set the amplifier and the cylinder on the bulkhead.
Connect the master cylinder brake pipes.
Connect the vacuum hose to the amplifier.
Connect to the brake pedal pull amplifier.
Fill the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid. Bleed the brake system.

ATTENTION
Vacuum brake booster can not be disassembled.
