Dismantling, check and assemblage of the brake caliper
Remove the front wheel. Remove the bolt of the brake hose to the caliper. Unscrew the cylinder support. Remove the cylinder and the brake pads.
| Fig. 6.25. Caliper mounting bolts to the steering knuckle
|
Remove the caliper mounting bolts to the steering knuckle (Fig. 6.25). Remove the caliper.
Dismantling Remove the piston boot.
With the help of compressed air squeeze out of the caliper piston (Fig. 6.26).
Use a screwdriver to remove the caliper piston seal (Fig. 6.27).
NOTE Do not put your fingers between the piston and the caliper. Be careful not to splash brake fluid. |
Check Check the support for wear, cracks, rust in the holes under the pistons. Assess the pistons. If wear or scoring, replace the piston. Check the condition of the sleeve and the finger. Make sure there is no damage spring pads and piston boot.
| Fig. 6.28. Measurement of the thickness and the brake disc runout
|
Measure the thickness of the beating and the brake disc (Fig. 6.28).
ATTENTION Do not restore the surface of the piston with sandpaper. All rubber parts should not be installed again. |
The thickness of the brake disc Par: 24 mm. Limit: 22.4 mm. Runout: 0.08 mm, no more. The difference in the thickness of the brake disc: 0.01 mm.
NOTE The difference in thickness of the brake disc determined by the difference of maximum and minimum thickness measured at eight points on the circumference of about 10 mm from the edge. |
Runout is determined by the circumference of 5 mm from the edge of the disc. If unable to repair, replace the brake disc.
Assembly Wash all parts (except pads and linings pads) with isopropyl alcohol. Grease the piston seal with special grease and install the seal into the groove hole caliper.
Grease with special greasing hole of a support for the piston, the outer surface of the piston and duster.
| Fig. 6.30. The scheme of installation of the piston and anther
|
Set the boot on the piston, as shown in Figure 6.30. Insert the boot into the groove of a support hole, push the piston in the caliper.
| Fig. 6.31. Driving the sliding caliper assembly
|
Grease special grease sleeve, pin and hole caliper bushing. Grease also the anthers and Bushings. Install the boot into the groove hole caliper. Install the brake pads.
NOTE Do not allow grease on the pads and brake discs. Before tightening the bolts, make sure that the sliding surface of the guide pin and screw is not damaged. Bleed the brake system. Make sure there is no leakage of brake fluid. |
