Removal of air from hydraulic brakes

Remove the fluid reservoir cap and fill the brake fluid reservoir (Fig. 6.5).
ATTENTION If you get brake fluid on the painted surface, wipe up spills immediately. |
NOTE Do not press on the brake pedal when bleeding the brake system pressure. |
Connect a transparent vinyl hose to the bleed screw disc brake caliper or working brake cylinder drum brake. Lower the free end of the hose into a container of clean brake fluid. Repeatedly press the brake pedal.

Keep the pedal fully depressed, loosen the bleed screw before the start of leaking brake fluid. Then tighten the bleed screw (Fig. 6.6). Repeat pumping up until the air bubbles do not stop to appear with the brake fluid. Tighten the bleed screw. Tightening torque bleed screw: 7-13 Nm.

Follow the above procedure for removal of air brakes each wheel in the sequence shown in Figure 6.7.
