Replacing the parking brake cable
 | All considered models are equipped with an airbag. Cushion resides in the "heads-up" state and may operate (inflate) at any time at the connected battery. To avoid inadvertent deployment of the air (and result in the injury) each time when carrying out any work on the components of the security system, turn the ignition key to LOCK and remove the negative wire from the battery. After disconnecting the cables from the battery before starting work Wait for at least two minutes (the system is equipped with a condenser, which takes time to discharge). Front cable Rear cable | - On models with rear drum brakes, remove the rear wheels. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
- Disconnect the cable from the rocker and release it from the bracket just behind the rocker (see.
- Release the cable from the clamps on the cells of the body and chassis of the car.
- On models with rear drum brakes, remove the brake drum, remove the rear brake shoe (Section Replacement of boots of drum brakes) and unplug the cable. Tighten the cable clamp screw-type hose clamp and remove it, threading through the shield of the brake mechanism.
- On models with disc rear brakes, disconnect the ear loop from the executive arm, then squeeze the latch securing the cable to the bracket on the support.
- Install in reverse order.
- Upon completion, be sure to make adjustment of the cable (see section Adjusting the parking brake).
