Removal and installation of assemblage of the control heater and air conditioner



See. The warning at the beginning of Section Removal and installation of the unit heater fan.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Give me six screws and remove the lining of the central part of the dashboard.

To provide access to the two bottom screws, remove the ashtray.


  1. To remove the lining of the central part of the dashboard, remove the ashtray and give the six screws.
  1. Give the four screws that secure the control panel, heater and air conditioner.
  1. Give the screws that secure the control panel, heater and air conditioner.
  1. Remove the control panel out of its socket by pulling it forward, disunite electric sockets couplings vacuum lines.
  1. Remove the control assembly heater and air conditioner from its nest and disunite on the rear side of the electrical and vacuum connectors.

  1. Install in reverse order.

Check of the vacuum lines of the control panel

Necessary for the operation of the climate control vacuum is applied to the control panel on the line connected to the intake manifold. In this line included a check valve.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Turn off the engine, remove the vacuum line from the intake manifold control valve (note its orientation along the line), and with a hand vacuum pump to attach the valve to the reverse side of the engine of his depression by depth of 203 mm Hg. Art. The valve must "pass" vacuum.
  1. With manual vacuum pump, check-sided control valve (arrow) in the vacuum line control panel, heater and air conditioner.
  1. Create a vacuum with the control panel facing the side of the valve. Now the valve should be closed. If this condition is not satisfied, replace the check valve.
  2. Install a check valve in the vacuum line (its correct direction) and connect the hose to the intake manifold.
  3. When extracted from its seat panel and disconnect the vacuum harness (see. alternately create a vacuum depth of 203 mm Hg. Art. on each of the seven terminal fittings.
  1. Create a vacuum depth of 203 mm Hg. Art. alternately on each of the seven unions vacuum harness connector.
  1. If any of the circuits does not hold vacuum, inspect the line of the path for the source of "leaks" and make the necessary repairs.
