Removing and installing engine

The air conditioning system is constantly under pressure! Before refrigeration line disconnects or remove any components of the system, make its discharge at a workshop of dealer branch or a specialist workshop.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Relieve pressure in the power supply system (Chapter power supply system and exhaust), then disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

These models of cars equipped with airbags. Pillow is always ready and can work (inflated) at any time with a connected battery. To prevent accidental operation of the system (and to obtain as a result of injury) every time you work with the components of airbags (including the impact sensors, which can be located near the front grille / bumper) Disconnect the battery negative lead. After disconnecting the battery before you start work, wait at least 2 minutes (capacitor system is equipped with a delay, which must be fully discharged). See. Head System of an onboard electric equipment.

  1. Cover the wings of the car and the front fairing and remove the hood (head body). To protect the wings are manufactured specially molded cases, but no worse than the fit and old blankets.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly (Head of the Power supply system and exhaust).
  3. Drain the cooling system (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
  4. Label the vacuum lines and hoses systems, emission control, electrical connectors, earthing and fuel lines (to ensure proper connection of the assembly), and remove them. In any case, make a scheme as laying lines, hoses and wires in the engine compartment.
  5. Mark and disconnect the hoses from the engine cooling system.
  6. Remove the cooling fan with a casing and a radiator (Head of System of cooling, heating and air conditioning).
  7. Remove the drive belt (s) (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).

Gasoline is extremely flammable liquid least, so when working with components of the power supply system of the car must follow some special precautions. Work should be done in a well ventilated area, which should not be fueled by natural gas and equipped with a control torch heating devices (such as the water heater and dryer for clothes and shoes) is unacceptable approach to the place of work with a lit cigarette, naked flames or unprotected shade redurable . Due to the aggressiveness of gasoline, where there is a danger of spillage during execution of a procedure, wear protective latex gloves. Caught in the open areas of the body petrol immediately rinse with plenty of water and soap. At hand should always be a Class B fire extinguisher Disconnect the fuel line from the engine, reaching the car chassis (Chapter power supply system and exhaust). Plug the open ends of the connecting lines and fittings.

  1. Disconnect draft gas (as well as traction drive throttle kickdown mode (TV-pull) and a drive cable Tempostat, if any) from the engine (Chapter power supply system and exhaust).
  2. On vehicles equipped with steering system hydrostrengthening otboltite steering pump (Head Suspension and steering). Put the pump aside, without disconnecting from it lines / hoses, so that it does not leak from the hydraulic fluid (bottom down). Attach the pump wire.
  1. Attach the pump to the steering system hydrostrengthening connected to it on the side lines - Make sure that the pump was located down the bottom.
  1. On models equipped with air-conditioning compressor otboltite (Head of System of cooling, heating and air conditioning) and also move it to the side. Do not disconnect the hose from the compressor.
  1. Otboltite air conditioning compressor and set it aside (without disconnecting the hoses).
  1. Drain the engine oil (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance) and remove the oil filter.
  2. Remove the starter (Head System of an electric motor).
  3. Remove the generator (Head of System of an electric motor).
  4. Otboltite from the engine exhaust pipe (s) of the exhaust system (Chapter power supply system and exhaust).
  5. When the work on the model equipped with the AT, give fixture rotation converter to a drive disk (Head Automatic transmission).
  6. Support the transmission jack. At the head of a jack and the transmission housing for load lay a piece of wood. Available special transmission jacks equipped with a safety chain - as far as possible, use one of these.
  7. Connect to eyes engine hoist rigging (slings or chains).
  8. Display the operating point of the hoist winch and attach the hook to its rigging. Select slack sling (chain), but do not pick up until the engine.

Do not stand or perform any work under the engine, hung only by means of a winch or other lifting equipment.

  1. Connect the engine mounted on the lift rigging to the hook and hoist up the slack.
  1. Give bolts of fastening of transmission to the engine.
  2. Give bolts of the engine mounts to the frame.
  3. Once again, make sure that the motor is completely disconnected from the powertrain and chassis of the vehicle. Disconnect all that was forgotten.
  4. Slightly lift the engine. Gently push it forward, disconnecting from the transmission. When the work on the car is equipped with AT, take care that the transmitter has not dropped out of the rotation transmission (attach to the walls of the opening pair of hand grip of the crankcase). On models with Manual transmission input shaft must be completely out of the clutch. Then slowly lift the engine and remove it from the engine compartment.
  5. Remove flywheel / drive plate and set the engine on assembly stand.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the condition of support of the power unit. If the rubber pads are worn or damaged, replace them.
  2. On models with Manual transmission, set the clutch basket (Chapter Manual box of a gear change). Now will be the time to replace the clutch disc.
  3. Carefully lower the engine in the engine compartment - track correctness of combination of components supports.
  4. On vehicles with AT converter make joint rotation and the crankshaft (Head Automatic transmission).
  5. When RKPP lightly grease a pin of a primary shaft of high-temperature lubricant and insert it into the guide bearing of the crankshaft so that the dome housing is flush with the engine block.
  6. Install the mounting bolts of the engine to the transmission and tighten them firmly.

DO NOT attempt to use the mounting bolts to press the engine to the transmission.

  1. The installation of the remaining components are produced in the reverse order of their removal.
  2. If necessary, fill the cooler, engine oil, liquid hydrostrengthening steering system and transmission fluid.
  3. Start the engine and check for leaks and serviceability of functioning of all units and accessories, then install the hood and perform sea trials.
  4. Make overcharging and check for leaks air conditioning system.
