The order of assembly of the engine after completing its overhaul
Before assembling the engine, make sure you have all the necessary parts, gaskets, seals, as well as the following tools and materials: - The usual set of plumbing tools
- Socket wrench with drives by 1/2 and 3/8 inch (9.5 and 13 mm)
- The tool for removal / installation of piston rings
- The tool for compression of piston rings
- Tool to install vibration damper
- Short lengths of rubber or plastic hose for putting on the bolts connecting rod bearing caps to protect against damage to cylinder bores and crankshaft journals
- Set to measure the gaps in the bearings by means of the calibrated plastic wire (Plastigage)
- Set the blade-type probe
- Files with a fine tooth
- Fresh engine oil
- The assembly or molybdenum grease
- Gasket Sealant
- Sealant Threadlocking
To save time and reduce problems arising from the engine assembly should be done in the following order: - New camshaft bearings (set in the workshop of car-care center)
- Piston rings
- Crankshaft and main bearings
- The connecting rod-piston assembly
- Oil pump
- The camshaft and hydraulic lifters
- Sump
- Cylinder head
- Distribution chain with asterisks
- Head (s) of the cylinders, rocker arms and pushrods
- Cover the distribution chain
- Intake manifold and exhaust manifold (s)
- The cover (s) of the head (s) of the cylinders
- Flywheel / drive plate
