Replacement of a protective cover of steering draft



Protective Case Tie Rod End

1 - pin;
2 - a nut;
3 - tie rod end;
4 - a protective cover rod end;
5 - lock nut;
6 - a collar;
7 - wire.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift the front of the car and fix on supports. Remove the wheel.
2. Remove the plastic shield protecting the wheel arches.
3. Turn the wheel to the left until it stops.
4. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut ball joint tie rod to the steering knuckle. To loosen the nut until it reaches the end of the finger.
5. Stripper OK130 283 021 squeeze the finger of the spherical rod end from the knuckle.

A warning

To avoid damaging the screw thread on the thread of the stud nut temporary. Do not tighten the nut hard to avoid damaging the threads.


6. Mark the position of the tie rod, loosen the lock nut and unscrew the tie rod from the steering rod.
7. Attach the tie rod in a vise.
8. Push the chisel into the cover, holding it at an angle as shown in the figure.

9. Slowly, being careful chisel and moving around the joint, bring down a protective cover.


A warning

Do not damage the place fit the dust cover to the steering rod.


10. Cut the wire and release the clamp of a protective cover of steering transfer.
11. Remove the lock nut from steering draft.
12. Moving on steering draft, remove the protective cover of steering transfer.
13. Remove the clamps with a protective cover.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply a small amount of grease inside the protective cover of tie rod.
2. The press and the mandrel install a protective cover on the tie rod end.
3. Fill in the new protective cover of steering transmission lubricant.
4. Apply a thin layer of grease to the mating surfaces of a protective cover.
5. Pulling on steering draft, install a protective cover of steering transfer. Fix the big party cover wire by wrapping it in two turns and tighten the ends of the wire 4-4,5 times.
6. Secure the case with the smaller side clamp.
7. Screw the lock nut of steering draft and combine the labels put before a reversing of a nut.
8. Screw a tip of steering draft and combine the labels put before a reversing of a tip.
9. Tighten the tie rod lock nut.

10. Install the finger of the spherical rod end to the knuckle.

11. Screw the nut and finger tighten its demanded moment.
12. Install the cotter pin.
13. Install the wheel.
14. Lower the car.
15. After installation, check wheel alignment.
