Replacing the oil seal Camshaft

An indication of the need to replace the camshaft oil seal is leaking oil from its edge. This oil is sprayed rotating camshaft pulley, resulting oily turn the entire front part of the engine and the timing belt.
If you find traces of oil leakage through the gland camshaft engine, first check to see if clogged crankcase ventilation system and whether it pinched hoses, Repair if necessary. If the oil leak does not stop, replace the seals.
You will need: all the tools needed to relieve the timing (see. "Replacement of the timing belt") and the cylinder head cover (see. "Replacing the cover gasket cylinder head"), as well as a screwdriver, a hammer and a mandrel of suitable size for pressing the gland.
1. Disconnect a wire from the plug ?-? the storage battery.
2. Establish the piston of 1st cylinder TDC compression stroke (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke").
3. Remove the cylinder head cover (see. "Replacing the cover gasket cylinder head").

NOTE
To remove the cylinder head cover is necessary to hold the camshaft from turning when removing its pulley.

4. Remove the timing belt (see. "Replacement of the timing belt").

NOTE

7. ... and remove the toothed pulley from a camshaft.

NOTE
Replacing the oil seal Camshaft
Inspect sprocket: tooth fracture and deformation of the pulley is not allowed.

8. Having hooked a screw-driver, remove the oil seal from the slot of the front bearing of the camshaft.
9. Before installing a new oil seal inspect the working edge. It should be smooth, without dents and sagging rubber. Spring gland must be intact and unstretched. Grease a working edge with engine oil.

HELPFUL ADVICE
To facilitate the pressing gland follow the small chamfer on the edge of his landing with the help of needle files or fine emery wheel.

10. Install the oil seal sealing lip inside the bearing housing, carefully tuck lip on the camshaft (eg a wooden stick) and press in up to the stop with a suitable mandrel. As the mandrel can use the old packing.
11. Install the parts in reverse order of removal.
12. Adjust the belt drive the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump (see. "Check and adjust belt drives the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump") and the drive generator and water pump (see. "Check and adjust drive belt tension and generator water pump ").
