Removing and installing engine

Remove the engine (with a pre-removed transmission) down from the engine compartment. It is more convenient to take a car engine mounted on the lift. The garage conditions with no need to lift the jack, as well as strong and high enough support to set them on a raised front part of the car that will make it possible to extract from beneath his engine dropped to the floor of the garage.

HELPFUL ADVICE
The engine is very heavy, so we recommend to take it to an assistant.

A WARNING
When removing and installing the engine, use only fully serviceable hoisting machines designed for corresponding load, and carefully monitor the accuracy and reliability of the connection to the engine eyebolts ropes, traverse, etc.

1. For convenience, remove the hood (see. "Removing and installing the hood").
2. Reduce the pressure in the supply system (see. "Reducing the pressure in the fuel system").
3. Remove the decorative motor cover (see. "Removing and installing decorative casing of the engine").

4. Remove the air filter (see. "Removing and installing the air filter").
5. Disconnect the battery and remove it from the vehicle (see. "Removing and installing the battery").

6. Unscrew the bolts and remove the battery tray.
7. Remove the mudguard of the engine (see. "Removal and installation of mudguards of the engine").
8. Drain the cooling system (see. "Replacing the coolant").

9. If you are shooting for engine repair, drain the oil from the oil sump (see. "Replacing the engine oil and oil filter").
10. Remove the radiator cooling system (see. "Replacing the heat sink cooling system").
Removing and installing engine
11. Remove intermediate pipe exhaust system complete with a catalytic converter (see. "Replacement catalytic converter"), as it prevents the lowering of the engine down.
12. Disconnect the wiring harness from the following elements:
- Absolute pressure sensor in the intake pipe;
- The throttle position sensor;
- The idle speed regulation, phase sensor;
- Purge solenoid valve;
- Coolant temperature sensor engine management system;
- The ignition coil;
- Engine nozzles.
13. Squeeze the pliers locks securing the holder to the body harness fuel rail ...

20. Disconnect from the reverse gear switch wiring harness connector.
21. Disconnect the wires from the generator (see. "Removing and installing the generator") and the starter (see. "Removing and installing starter").
22. Remove the engine mounting brackets from the engine wiring harness and move wiring harness aside.
23. Disconnect from the engine ...

25. Disconnect hoses from unions purge solenoid valve (see. "Removing and installing purge solenoid valve").
26. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail and the brake servo hose from the intake manifold fitting (see. "Replacing gaskets intake manifold of the engine").
27. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle assembly (see. "Replacement of the throttle cable").
28. Similarly disconnect the engine from the power steering pump (see. "Replacing the power steering pump").

29. Disconnect hoses of a radiator heater.
30. Disconnect hoses cooling radiator pipes from the cover of the thermostat and water pump.
31. Disconnect from the throttle assembly fittings and hoses from the receiver of its heating.

32. Remove the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts to the bracket on the cylinder block and, without disconnecting from it pipelines, move aside, then secure in any way possible (for example, tying wire).
33. Establish a support under the engine, remove the gearbox (see. "Removing and installing transmission").

NOTE
In the process of removing the gearbox remove the left, front and back support of the power unit and motor protective timber (see. "Replacement of support of the power train"; "Replacing the protective timber").

34. Secure the lifting slings mechanism for the front and rear transport eyes and pull straps.
Removing and installing engine
35. Remove the right support of the power unit (see. "Replacement of support of the power train").
36. Re-check whether all wires, hoses and hinged units are disconnected from the engine.
37. Slightly lift the power unit, remove the support from the engine and lower the engine down.
38. hang out the front of the car (Lift up the vehicle) and high enough to extract from under the car of the power unit, and set under the body of reliable support.
39. Remove the engine from the car.
40. Install the engine and all the removed items in sequence, return to removal, taking into account the following:
- Before installation of the power unit, clean the rust from the tap threaded mounting holes of his legs;
- Be sure to replace with new pads front exhaust pipe and catalytic converter;
- When connecting wires and pipes carefully watch over the correctness of their position in the engine compartment, avoiding contact with the heating and moving elements of the power unit.

After installing the motor, do the following.
2. Fill the coolant (see. "Replacing the coolant").
3. Adjust the tension of the alternator drive belt and the water pump (see. "Check and adjust belt drive generator and water pump"), as well as a belt drive power steering pump and air conditioning compressor (see. "Check and adjust belt drives the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump ").
4. Adjust the throttle actuator (see. "Adjusting the throttle cable").
5. Start up the engine and check for leaks of fuel, oil and coolant. Check the oil pressure. Listen to the engine, it should work smoothly, without extraneous noise and knocks.
