ECM - check of serviceability of a condition and replacement
Check All models ECM attached to the right under the dashboard. When the engine is running his fingertips sharply tap the wall unit - if the ECM is faulty, tapping may impair the stability of the engine speed at the same time on the display connected to the system of onboard diagnostics (OBD) scanner will be highlighted current information on the characteristics of the engine. Before the replacement of the module, check for proper condition and reliability of fastening of contact connections of its electrical circuit. Each pin is painted in the color of the individual, which eliminates the possibility of incorrect wiring connections when installing ECM. In the absence of obvious signs of infringement of serviceability of functioning of the control module car should be driven away on a car repair shop for more detailed diagnostics module. Replacement  | Considered in this manual car models are equipped with additional safety (SRS). Before proceeding with any work near the airbag unit, steering column and instrument panel, disconnect SRS to avoid injury at its casual operation (see chap. Onboard electric equipment). Wiring of chain SRS is easy for distinguishing on yellow color of isolation. |
 | To avoid electrostatic discharge damage to the ECM, try not to touch the connection terminals of the module, on the ability to produce self-earthing. |
| - Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
- Remove the two screws and remove the bottom section of the finishing on the right under the dashboard.
- In order to ensure access to the control module flex panel carpeting.
 | - Give the four retaining nuts and remove the ECM from the stud bolts. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the module.

- Installation is in the reverse order.
| Make sure that the replacement module is consistent with the type of the failed - setting ECM different specification may cause damage to components of the fuel injection system! |
