Check / adjustment of ignition timing
Typically, the ignition timing due to mechanical wear is not displaced. However, for security reasons, the firm MAZDA prescribed regular checking ignition timing within the service. Ignition timing must also be adjusted if the shot dispenser. To check and adjust ignition timing required tachometer and stroboscope. | - Warm up the engine to operating temperature and drown him.
- Connect the tachometer and stroboscope according to the manufacturer's instructions.
| - On some models, the diagnostic connector, located on the left housing strut, you must connect the system switch MAZDA (SST 49B0199A0). Set the switch A to position 1, test switch on the SELF TEST.
|
| - If this device is not present, should be bridged the GND and the TEN pigtail. Which models are covered by this requirement.
|
- If there is, turn off the vacuum hose of the vacuum device on the valve plug and clean suitable bolt. In dual vacuum device may be that it is necessary to disable only one of the two hoses.
- Start the engine and run at idle. The required number of revolutions during the scan.
- Turn off all electrical consumers (radio, rear window, and so on. D.), And air conditioning.
| - Illuminate strobe mark on the crankshaft belt pulley.
|
- Ignition timing is adjusted correctly if the yellow mark on the belt pulley stands motionless in front of the corresponding value of the moment of ignition on the casing of a gear belt. The values of the ignition timing in the table.
| - If the ignition timing is not correct, loosen the clamp bolt on the valve and adjust the ignition timing by turning the distributor.
|
- Tighten the clamp bolt on the rail with a force of 25 Nm.
- Remove the bolt from the vacuum hose and fit the hose to the vacuum device distributor.
- Turn off the system switch or jumper on the diagnostic plug.
- Disable checking instruments with the ignition off.
- In the studio, you can still check the displacement, centrifugal and vacuum distributor at a different speed. This is required only when the fault of the ignition system.
- Check idle speed and adjust if necessary, see chap. The power supply system, the carburettor, the fuel injection system.

1 - Automatic transmission: the idle speed to + 100 rev / min 2 - No-load speed is adjusted automatically. 3 - Disconnect the hose only from the bottom of the vacuum unit. 4 - Connect the system plug MAZDA (SST 49V0199A0).
