Check / removal and installation of the lambda probe
Lambda probe is used to adjust the composition of the exhaust gases in cars with petrol engines with controlled catalyst. The probe is screwed into the exhaust manifold. | Cables connecting lambda probe must not be repaired or soldered. In the case of cable damage, replace the lambda probe in the kit. |
Check | - Warm up the engine, the temperature gauge coolant should be in the middle of the scale.
- Leave the engine idling.
- Disconnect the electrical connection between the terminal and connect the lambda probe and the mass of the vehicle voltmeter.
| - At a speed of 3000 rev / min, the voltage should be about 0.55 to give a little bit of gas throttle lever.
|
- A few times quickly to increase the number of turns and to fall. With increasing speed voltmeter should show pressure of from 0.5 to 1.0, with a decrease in rotations from 0 to 0.4 V, otherwise the lambda probe must be replaced. (In the Studio with the diagnostic tool can be tested by sensitivity).

|
Withdrawal | - Disconnect the plug.
| - Unscrew lambda probe on the exhaust manifold and remove the gasket. If necessary, unscrew the first heat shield.

Setting MAZDA 323 4 WD (AWD) | Lubricate (high temperature grease) |
 | When replacing the lambda probe to take only the same performance. |
| - Clean thread.
- Coat with special grease BOSH thread only lambda probe. New probes are already coated with this lubricant. Grease should not get to the slots or openings of the body of the sensor. If possible, do not touch the body of the new lambda probe, do not spoil it.
 | If the sensor is screwed without special high-temperature paste, over time the thread firmly prikipit and lambda probe can not be unscrewed. |
- Screw the oxygen sensor with a gasket and tightened to 40 Nm.
- Connect the plug to the lambda probe.
