How to use the vehicles with catalyst

To avoid damage to the lambda probe and catalyst, follow these instructions:

  • Be sure to fill the unleaded gasoline.
  • If the car was accidentally filled with leaded petrol, to be replaced before the exhaust catalyst and the catalyst itself. Before installing the new parts should be made at least 2 refueling with unleaded petrol.
  • It is not allowed to start the engine by pushing or towing the vehicle. Unburned fuel at ignition can lead to overheating and destruction of the catalyst. To start, use the auxiliary cable.
  • Avoid frequent, successive cold starts. Otherwise, the catalyst collected unburned fuel, which can explode when heated and damage the catalyst.
  • If you have difficulty during start-up is not a long time to keep the starter, as this fuel is injected. Identify and eliminate the cause of the problem.
  • Do not check for spark with the removed tip candle.
  • It is impossible to carry out comparison test cylinder by turning off the ignition of one of the cylinders. If you disable one of the cylinders unburned fuel enters the catalytic converter.
  • If there are disruptions of ignition, do not give a large number of turns, and as soon as possible to remedy the problem.
  • Do not park the car in places where flammable materials such as dry grass or leaves can come into contact with the exhaust system. Risk of fire!
