Removal and installation / check clutch

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the gearbox. See Chapter Manual gearbox, Section Removal and installation of the gearbox.
  2. Mark the position of the pressure plate on the flywheel prescriber or felt-tip pen.
  1. To the flywheel when loosening the bolts was not turned, stall it on the gear ring with a screwdriver and rod. In workshops MAZDA picture used a special device.
  1. Alternately loosen the bolts on the pressure plate 1 - 1.5 turns until the pressure plate is not unloaded.

If you loosen the bolts at once, may be damaged diaphragm spring.

  1. Fully unscrew the bolts.
  2. Remove the pressure plate and clutch disc.

Do not drop press and conducted disks while removing, or after the installation can be difficult to switch on and off the clutch.

  1. Wipe a flywheel soaked in gasoline with a rag.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Oiled or mechanically damaged clutch plates replaced.
  1. Measure the thickness of the lining of the driven disc calipers. Distance to rivet heads should be at least 0.3 mm, or replace the clutch disc. The same is the presence of cracks in the overlay.
  1. Check the clutch disc on the beating. Maximum lateral palpation of a disk: 0.7 mm. To check the special tool is required, but this is only necessary if the old clutch disc set which were difficult to turn on and off.
  2. If the clutch had a problem, check the lateral runout of the flywheel using a dial gauge. Maximum lateral run-out: 0.2 mm.
  3. Check the flywheel on presence of traces of soot and grooves, if necessary, polish with fine sandpaper.
  1. Check release bearing signs of wear on the diaphragm spring. Small bumps align with sandpaper when larger damage replace the pressure plate.
  1. Check the spring connection between the pressure plate and cover for cracks and tightness of rivets. Coupling with damaged or weakened rivets must be replaced.
  2. Check the contact surface of a press disk on presence of cracks, traces of wear and burnout. The pressure plates having inward deflection to 0.3 mm can still be established. The check is done with the help of a ruler and a feeler gauge. If necessary, align the traces of burnout and grooves with fine sandpaper.
  1. Turn the pilot bearing in flywheel finger while pressing on the bearing. Replace the bearing only if it is jammed or has a free wheeling. To remove the need a special remover. The new bearing is hammered with a hammer and the rod until it is flush with the flywheel.
  1. Check the ease of movement of the release bearing.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Insert the clutch disc and pressure plate with a basket at the flywheel. This flat side facing the hub drive plate to the flywheel. Approximately align the clutch disc in the center of the thrust bearing. However, better center the best drive shaft, for example, HAZET or old primary shaft gearbox. If the clutch disc is not in the center, you can not insert the shaft of a transmission.
  1. If the former is set pressure plate, set the basket in accordance with the applied uncheck. The guide pin on the flywheel holes will be included in the basket of the pressure plate.
  2. Screw bolts basket.
  3. Tighten the bolts in the basket drive sequence shown in stages on 1 - 1.5 turns until the pressure plate is not screwed on. Remove dowel pin.

Ensure that the shopping cart when tightening bolts evenly and without skewing entered the flywheel. Tightening torque bolts baskets: 25 Nm.

  1. Remove from the clutch stopper.
  2. Establish a transmission, see. Chapter Manual gearbox.
  1. Petrol models with front-wheel drive to 8/89 MY., As well as touring all models: Adjust the clutch. See Section Adjustment of a pedal / clutch cable.
