Removal and installation / check of clutch release bearing



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the gearbox.
  1. Cars up to 9/89 MY. and wagon models: Pull the lever return spring clutch on the gearbox casing and remove release bearing with the clutch fork.
  1. Cars since 10/89 vol., Except wagon models: Remove the release bearing with the clutch fork and then remove the bearing. On all-wheel drive models with 1/90 MY. take into account the mounting position of the intermediate plate. See

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Squeeze the release bearing and simultaneously turn. On vehicles with a 9/89 MY. Bearing stretch and rotate simultaneously. If the bearing rotates with difficulty, to install a new bearing.

The bearing has a long-term lubrication and should neither be cleaned nor greased.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lightly coat the contact surface on the release bearing and clutch fork lubricant of MoS 2.
  1. Attach the release bearing to the plug and insert the two elements in the shaft of a transmission.

On all-wheel drive models with 1/90 MY. between the fork and the clutch release bearing is a needle bearing, which makes it easier to bring the clutch action. Before installing a new release bearing rearrange both intermediate plates with the spring from the old to the new bearing.

  1. Attach the cover clutch fork on the gearbox casing.
  2. If so, attach the return spring release lever.
