Check and clean the cylinder

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Inspect the unit for cracks and corrosion or rust. Inspect the thread holes of the block. If defects are found, the unit should be possible to repair or replace.
2. Inspect the cylinders.
3. Measure the diameter of the cylinder is perpendicular to the center line (A) and parallel to the center line (B).
4. Measure the diameter of the cylinder gauge.
5. Measure the length of the meter micrometer.
6. Measure the diameter of each cylinder in the upper, middle and lower parts thereof, parallel to the axis of the crankshaft.
7. Measure the diameter of each cylinder in the upper middle and lower parts thereof, perpendicular to the axis of the crankshaft.
8. The taper of the cylinder is calculated as the difference between the upper and lower diameters. Roundness - the difference between the parallel and perpendicular measurements.
9. If the results do not match the specifications, refer to specialists.
10. Using a ruler and a probe check to see if the surface of the block, the junction with the head.
11. Check the wear on the piston and cylinder using a stylus. When you are worn or damaged during the inspection unit, refer to specialists.

Cleaning

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the cylinder from the soft cap. To do this with a hammer and dolly to drown them into the unit, and then remove the plugs from the holes, large picked up a pair of pliers.
2. Remove all traces of spatula gasket material from the cylinder block, being careful not to damage the surface.
3. Remove the crankshaft bearing caps and remove the bearings from the block, and covers. Label that refers to any cylinder bearings, as well as the item from which it was removed (from the cover or the cylinder), place them separately from each other.
4. Use the special Allen wrench (Allen key) Unscrew and remove the screw plugs all channels of the cylinder.
5. If the engine is very dirty, it should be returned to the shop for Car washing with a strong jet or in a hot cell. In nearly all the automobile commercially available brush to clean oil channels and apertures. Flush the internal channels a stream of warm water until then, until the water is clear, carefully dry the block and grease the surface of the treated oil, which will protect them from corrosion. If there is compressed air, blow out the unit and internal channels to speed up the drying process.
6. If the unit is slightly dirty, it is sufficient to rinse the unit with warm water and detergent and a stiff brush. Take the time and do the job well. Regardless of the method of washing thoroughly clean oil channels and apertures, dry the block and grease the surface of the treated oil.

7. Screw holes in the block should undergo a tap that will provide correct readings torque during assembly. Passage of the tap will clean the threaded holes by dirt, corrosion and sealant residue and restore the thread. If possible, blow out the holes with compressed air to remove any residual material from the passage of a tap.
8. Carefully clean the threads of bolts fastening the cylinder head and the crankshaft bearing caps.
9. Reinstall the cover of radical bearings, bolts tighten by hand.

10. Install the new plug into the unit, after brushing their high temperature sealant. Make sure to fit plugs in the absence of distortions. otherwise possible leakage.
11. landing plugs need a special tool, but this operation can be performed with a uniform quality using the mandrel, the diameter of which corresponds to the plug hole, and a hammer.
12. If the assembly of the engine at this time will not be made, then cover with the cylinder block plastic cover that will protect it from contamination.
