Valve Repair

Due to the complexity of the work and the need for special tools and equipment, repair of valves, saddles and directing plugs is best to entrust experienced.

At home, you can do the following work: dismantling the cylinder head, its washing and inspection, reassembly and delivery service Car dealer or an authorized service workshop for repair of valves.

In the service of car-care center or in specialized workshops, the following activities: removal of springs and valves, grinding or replacing valves and guides, inspection and replacement of springs, retaining rings and crackers (as appropriate), the replacement valve stem seals, bulkhead parts of the valve, check the height a spring in a free state. In the event of a plane exceeds norm polished cylinder head.

After the inspection and repair of valves and parts of experienced staff, the cylinder head is completely restored. Before installing the cylinder head, rinse it again to remove residual abrasive sanding head or grinding in of valves. If possible blow all channels and apertures the compressed air.

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
Valves
1. Carefully inspect the valve head, if necessary, replace the worn out valves.
2. Measure the height of the valve head of the chamfer, if necessary, replace the valve.
Elements valves
3. Inspect the valve springs and measure the length of each, if necessary, replace the spring.
4. Check that the springs were straight, if necessary, replace all springs simultaneously.
5. Inspect the seat springs and plates for cracks and wear and replace them if necessary.

Grinding valves

If chamfers valves and seats have little wear and tear, or install new valves not worn saddle, it is necessary to lap the valves to the saddles. Lapping operation is performed as follows.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply a small amount of coarse abrasive paste on the facet of a saddle.
2. Insert the valve into directing plug and turning and pressing the valve, grind it to the saddle. To perform this work will need a special tool inserted into the tube with the rubber hose segment. Grinding can be carried out and an electric drill, a device is inserted into the cartridge. In the process of lapping periodically lift the valve to check the result and re-lapping material.
3. When the valve head or facet of a saddle is formed smooth, continuous belt, remove the remains of a rough abrasive paste and continue grinding with a fine paste.
4. After grinding in of all valves to the saddles, rinse thoroughly with kerosene space lapping to remove residual abrasive, wipe with a cloth and blow (if possible) with compressed air. Remains of abrasive in the cylinder head can cause enhanced wear.

It should be noted that the over-lapping of old valve arrangement belt can break and become invalid, or if the new valve grinding is done to the old saddles, excessive grinding can lead to the formation of "pockets".
