Removing and installing engine



Method and Precautions

If you remove the engine for the first time, you need to prepare for that room, preferably equipped with a lift. You will need an assistant, ideally someone with specific knowledge and expertise. It is also necessary to prepare all the necessary tools and observe all necessary precautions during this difficult procedure.

Withdrawal
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Release the pressure in the fuel system.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Remove hood.
4. Lift and fix a forward part of the car.
5. Drain the coolant, engine oil, transmission oil and remove all belts.
6. Remove the front wheels.
7. Disconnect all vacuum hoses and hoses of the cooling system and the exhaust system, disconnect the wires and fuel lines. Before disconnecting the wires and hoses, mark both ends.
8. Remove the air filter and resonator.
9. Remove the cover plate of the motor.
10. Remove the battery holder, battery cover and the battery itself.
11. Disconnect the accelerator cable.
12. Remove the washer tank and coolant reservoir.
13. Disconnect heater hoses.
14. Remove the cooling fan, radiator hoses and the radiator.
15. Remove the filler cap of the fuel tank, and then disconnect the fuel pipe from the engine.
16. Disconnect the power steering pump and secure it on the side.
17. Remove the air conditioning compressor and secure it on the side. Do not remove the coolant hoses.
18. Disconnect the cables from the motor.
19. Disconnect squeezing the clutch slave cylinder, switching rod and wire.
20. Remove the front section of the exhaust pipe and the axis.
21. Connect the motor to the lift.
22. Check that the engine was not connected to anything.
23. Establish a jack under the transmission and remove the dynamic damper, motor mount and motor bracket.
24. Attach the lift. Carefully lift the engine together with the gearbox.
25. Remove the gearbox and the engine flywheel and fix the engine on a special stand.
26. On models with an automatic transmission torque converter, remove the clips and push the torque converter in the gearbox casing.
27. Remove the screws and remove the transmission from the engine.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Inspect the engine mounts and the gearbox, if necessary, replace them.
2. Inspect the gasket and the clutch or torque converter clutch.
3. Grease lubricated torque converter and put it on the drive shaft of the gearbox and the front of the pump splines.
4. Insert and tighten the engine and gearbox.
5. Install the engine and transmission in the car, tighten fastening bolts, install the remaining parts, hoses and wires.
6. Fill engine oil cooler and transmission oil. Start the engine and check the operation.
