Check / adjust the start fuel supply pump

Regulation dilution fuel supply system (engine 2.0)

1. The fuel pump nozzles
4. PLA - Box
PLA = increase air speed idling
5. ADA - Box
ADA = stroke limiter rail high pressure fuel pump, depending on the atmospheric pressure. It serves to correct the low air density at high altitudes
6. The stopper mechanism of membrane vacuum regulator ignition timing
60. The valve system of exhaust gas recirculation
61b. Throttle orange
61c. Throttle 0.5 mm diameter green
61d. The connecting member yellow
62b. Filter
62b. The vent filter with a diameter of 0.13 mm choke
65. The suction control valve
67. A vacuum pump
72. The vibration damper
99. Hydraulic valve
Hydraulic valve mechanism 100. The membrane vacuum regulator ignition timing
128a. Thermostat (closed at 30 ? C)
140. The non-return valve for brake booster
Y27. The switching valve recirculation of exhaust gases
Y28. The switching valve hydraulic valve
a - Venting of internal space vehicle
b - Turn off using the key
c - Other consumers
e - To brake booster

Start pumping the fuel pump nozzles checked, or respectively setting made when the engine gives too little power, or install a new fuel pump.

There are two different maintenance and setting methods that can be used in the workshop depending on the equipment: static method using the position sensor and the dynamic verification method using a digital control unit. This describes a static method using the position sensor. To set the start fuel supply pump is required positioning sensor (encoder).

After the start of the static configuration of the pump must be checked in a dynamic way to the garage, and, consequently, idling. For engine capacity of 2.2 / 2.5 L is available only stateful inspection, or, respectively, setting the beginning of the fuel supply pump.

Check

1 - Terraced high pressure fuel pump
2 - Distribution of high pressure fuel pump

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the screw (arrow) on the side of the high pressure fuel pump.
A warning

If oil appears, remove it with a cloth.

2. Set the position sensor (1) in the regulator housing so that the guide pin (3) of the sensor point upwards. Hand tighten the coupling nut.
3. Install the crankshaft position corresponding to the ignition timing of the first cylinder.
4. After this pulley to rotate further until the sensor on a display (5) will flash lamp (A). Now continue to rotate the pulley rather slow until the bulbs burn both (A) and (B).
In this case, both the contact position sensor (1) due to the pins of the sinker (6) is a centrifugal control mechanism disposed on the weight, which is why both glow bulb. This position of the regulator (2) of the fuel pump nozzles indirectly corresponds to the beginning of the fuel supply pump.
5. The pulley should now be in the position 14 ? + 0,5 ? after TDC. E. The original mark is above the 14 ? position of labels on a pulley.
A warning

Do not turn the engine back. If only the light flashes (B), then repeat the test. At the same time rotate the crankshaft about two turns and especially slowly turn it into a region in which the light comes.

Customize

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Set the crankshaft in the rotational direction of the engine 14 ? after TDC of the first cylinder. To do this, first set the crankshaft in a position corresponding to the ignition point, and then a little turn on.
2. Loosen, without twisting, bolts (13) on the flange of high pressure fuel pump.
3. Loosen, without twisting, screws (13a) to the support bracket high pressure fuel pump.
4. Rotate using the socket wrench and bolt tensioning, thereby biasing the high pressure fuel pump as long as the indicating device does not light up two light bulbs (A) and (B). At the same time, rotate the adjusting screw to the right, if the beginning of the trial of the pump was located 14 ? after TDC mark. If the start of the pump should occur earlier, turn the adjusting screw to the left.
A warning

Unless it is possible to move by means of a tension bolt, it is necessary to remove and reposition the pump nozzles (body shop work).

5. From the moment of 25 Nm (approximate value) failure to tighten the mounting bolts on the flange of the pump and injector holder.
6. Unscrew and remove the position sensor.
7. Screw with a torque of 30 Nm drain plug with an aluminum seal ring.
8. Check the gas system linkage, adjust if necessary.
9. Check the engine oil level, if possible, make an adjustment.
