Troubleshooting Fan
1. If the fan does not work when the ignition switch is in any position, should first check the fuse ?25 (see. "Electrical"). 2. If the fuse is OK, check the fan speed switch, which remove the control unit. 3. Turn on the ignition. 4. Plug a lamp-sampler or a voltmeter to the "weight" and check the voltage across the appropriate switch to the wires. To do this, pierce the insulation of the contact tip. 5. On the black and red wire (voltage supply) lamp should burn in any case, and the voltmeter should read battery voltage. On the wire with green insulation with additional stripes of a different color - only when the respective position of the switch. 6. If something does not function as described, repair the wiring in the supply or replace the switch. 7. If the wiring and the switch are OK, remove the fan (see. "Removing the Fan"). 8. Check the power supply to the fan motor, which connect the lamp or voltmeter probe one wire to "weight", the other - to the terminal connecting green-gray or red wire to the electric motor. If no voltage, check the wiring. 9. Check the voltage between the two terminals to connect the fan motor, and the fan switch set to "5". The voltmeter should show 12 B. 10. If voltage is present, but the fan is not working, it is defective. Replace fan. 11. If voltage is not the reason the fuse. 12. If the fan works only on certain speeds or speed only "5" may have failed resistors switch. 13. Remove the resistor in the mounting block. Perform a visual inspection. If one of the resistors is blown, replace the entire unit resistors. For vehicles with air conditioning, side of the fan motor with an electronic speed controller.
