Checking and replacing the pad handbrake
| - Remove the rear wheel brake discs (see. Inspection, removal and installation of the brake disc).
- Wipe the brake dust. Be careful not to inhale it.
- Measure the thickness of brake linings, and if they are worn down to a thickness of 1.5 mm, replace the pads.
- To remove the retaining pads align one of the wheel bolt holes alternately with each spring, compress the spring with a screwdriver, and then rotate it 90 ?�, to release.
- Note the position of the return spring, and then unhook and remove the lower spring.
- Spread the bottom of the pad and drag them with the adjustment mechanism and the upper return spring under the flange axis.
- Unhook the upper return spring and remove the pads from the adjustment mechanism.
- If necessary, remove from the control extender cable, pulling the pin with a head.
- Wash the spreader in a solvent and wipe it dry. Promazhte contact surfaces of a small amount of grease on the basis of molybdenum.
- Connect the extension to the control cable and replace the pin. Hold the pin in place by pushing the extension to the brake backing plate.
- Check the bolts that secure the backing plate and the body of the holder, with the Allen key.
- Grease the threads of adjusting mechanism small amount of thermal grease and then set the mechanism at its minimum length.
- Set the top (with a slot) in the ends of the pad adjustment mechanism so that the wheel mechanism looked at before the car and trailer to the upper return spring blocks.
- Spread the bottom of the pad, set them back on the axle flange and insert the extender into the small slot in the stocks.
- Install the retaining spring.
- Connect the small hook on the lower return spring to the front block and a large hook - to the back block.
- Replace brake discs.
- Adjust the parking brake and check his work before leaving.
