Design and specifications
Electrical 12 volt, with the negative terminal to ground. The battery is recharged by the alternator with a belt drive and a built-in voltage regulator. Starter preliminary engagement: the traction relay enters the pinion gear engages with the ring gear to the power supply to the starter motor. This section gives a repair procedure, although in some cases more profitable units is entirely replaced with worn nodes. Every 16,000 km of running, check the operation of all electrical units and the electrolyte level in the battery. If necessary, top up the electrolyte. At the same time check the wear of the wiper blades and replace them if necessary. Type of electrical equipment: 12 V, negative terminal to ground. Maintenance Battery The standard battery has an automatic device to prevent overflow of the electrolyte. If the electrolyte level below the upper mark on the front side of the battery, remove the filler plugs or cap and top up with distilled water prior to the water filling the cavities of the rubber stoppers (see. Fig.). If this level is provided by the filling elements and covering the electrolyte separator plates. Keep clean the top surface of the battery, preventing the accumulation of dust on it, and moisture, which will eventually cause a partial self-discharge of the battery. Check corrosion brackets and battery mounting platform. If you find corrosion, remove the battery, remove corrosion products, treat the skin surface corresponding anticorrosive and apply a coat of paint the original color. Each time you remove the battery, inspect it for cracks and leaks. Cracks may appear in the winter time when topping up with distilled water after a ride, and not prior to departure. In this case, water not had time to mix with the electrolyte freezes and breaks the wall of the tank battery. Cracks can be repaired tank corresponds to the composition, but it depends on the material of the tank. If one of the battery cells leak, fill it with fresh electrolyte. Excessively high level of electrolyte in an undamaged tank battery indicates battery recharging and possible malfunction of the voltage regulator. With a small annual mileage car is recommended every three months to check the specific gravity to determine the state of charge of the battery. To check, use a hydrometer, is inserted through a rubber stopper, comparing the results with the data given below: Characteristic | Value | Ambient temperature 25 ? C | | 1,270-1,290 | | 1,230-1,250 | | 1,110-1,130 |
Keep in mind that the grading is done hydrometer for the electrolyte temperature of 15 ? C. Therefore subtracted from the measured value of 0.007 for every 10 ? C below 15 ? C. and add 0.07 for every 10 ? C above the temperature of 15 ? C. If the battery condition is causing your suspicions, check first of all the density of the electrolyte in each cell. The difference is 0,040 or more between any elements of evidence of loss or deterioration of the electrolyte plates.
