Removing and installing crankshaft seals



PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Replace radial seal can be removed both at the front cover of the cylinder (see. Section Removal and installation of timing chain) and at fixed cover.
  2. Remove the crankshaft pulley (see. Section Removal and installation of timing chain) and use a screwdriver to remove the seal from the front cover.
  1. Lubricate a new oil seal motor oil and press in its flush with the outer edge of the front cover. Use pipe with an outer diameter of 50 mm and an inner diameter of 44 mm.

Orientation gland shown in the illustration above.

  1. Set starred components.
  2. To replace the crankshaft rear oil seal, remove the transmission assembly (see chap. Manual box of a gear change and clutch or automatic transmission).
  3. On models with Manual transmission, remove the disc and clutch basket (see chap. Drive shafts, steering knuckles and Hub assembly).
  4. Remove the flywheel or the drive plate (see. Section Maintenance of the oil pump).
  5. Remove the oil seal using a screwdriver.
  6. Lubricate the new motor oil and the oil seal press-fit it with a tube with an outer diameter of 102 mm and an inner diameter of 90 mm. Oil seal must not protrude from the body of the holder.
  7. Set starred components.
