Maintenance rear disc brakes



To perform the procedures described below require the following special tools: a dial gauge (to check for disk heartbeat); vernier caliper (to measure the remaining thickness of the disc) and a spring balance (for measuring force tacking brakes).


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte back of the car and establish it on props. Remove the rear wheels.
  1. Through the inspection window in the housing of a support vote residual thickness of the friction brake pad (see. Accompanying illustration). If the thickness of the lining of any of the pad is less than the permissible (see. Table sizes and adjustments at the end of the Guide), or if the pad contaminated lubricant or hydraulic fluid must replace all four brake pads on both wheels mechanisms.

If the shoes are dirty, you also need to find and eliminate the cause of leaks.

  1. Using a syringe pump out of the tank GTZ approximately two-thirds of the nominal amount of the brake fluid.

Used fluid can not be re-usable.

  1. Removing the fluid produced in order to prevent overflow of her over the edge of the reservoir when the piston calipers utaplivanii to replace the pads.

Do not remove all the liquid from the tank, as this will entail the need for pumping hydraulic system.


  1. Give the lower guide pin bolt and rotate the caliper body up on the top finger (see. Accompanying illustration), opening access to the brake pads, shims and holders in the anchor bracket (calliper) support.
  1. Note the installation position of the components and remove the anchor bracket holders, pads and shims.
  2. Check shims and holders for signs of wear or damage. Replace defective components.
  3. Install the shims on the pad and then set the anchor bracket in its landing position pads (with pads) and holders. Moderately grease the holders of silicone grease.
  4. Push the plunger perpendicularly into the support cylinder. If necessary, use a clamp.
  5. Ensure freedom of sliding caliper on the guide pin, and then lower it to the block.
  6. Install the lower guide pin bolt and tighten it with demanded effort.
  7. After the completion of the replacement brake pads both repeatedly depress the brake pedal with the aim of shrink pads on the disks. If necessary, top up the brake fluid in the reservoir to the required level.
  8. Install the rear wheels and lower the car to the ground.
  9. Make car trial runs, checking serviceability of functioning of brakes.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte back of the car and establish it on props. Remove the rear wheels.
  2. Give choke bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Zakuporte hose end to prevent ingress of dirt into the hydraulic system and to minimize the loss of brake fluid.
  3. Remove the lower guide pin bolt, turn the support upwards and remove it from the top of the guide pin.
  4. Remove the retaining ring piston boot.
  5. Press a piece of wood to the anchors pads caliper body and gently squeeze out the piston from the cylinder support, feeding the air under low pressure into the hole for the installation of hydraulic hose on the caliper housing.

Excessive air pressure can cause the ejection of the piston at a high speed, risking injury and damage the piston.

  1. Remove the boot from the piston and remove the piston from the cylinder sleeve.

To remove the collar, use a blunt instrument, preferably made of plastic or wood.

  1. Remove the bracket from the anchor component pads.
  2. Rinse the support cylinder and piston with clean brake fluid.
  3. Check the cylinder bore for the presence of cavities, corrosion, wear or damage. If necessary, replace the caliper body.

Small defects can be removed with fine sandpaper.

  1. Check for the presence of the piston cavities, corrosion, wear or damage. If necessary, replace.

Do not attempt to polish the piston fine sandpaper, as this will damage its lining layer.

  1. Check the condition of the components pads, guide pin and an anchor bracket. Replace defective parts.
  2. Throw all rubber components, taken from the caliper assembly.
  3. Lubricate the new seal and piston boot grease for rubber components and set the cuff into the groove of the cylinder. Track correctness of landing collar in the groove - it should not be twisted.
  4. Slide the boot on the piston and lubricate the last clean brake fluid.
  5. Fully Depress the brake caliper piston in the cylinder and secure the boot in a groove on the edge of the cylinder lock of his attachment ring.
  6. Set the anchor bracket component pads.
  7. Pick up steelyard to the wheel studs and measure the force of resistance. Record the measurement result. If necessary, check the adjustment of the wheel bearing preload.
  8. Using a dial gauge mounted on the front suspension component pressed against the end surface of the brake disk plunger, measure the amount of runout. If the measurement is out of range (see. Table sizes and adjustments in the end of this manual), pierce the disc, or make replacement.
  9. Using vernier calipers, measure the thickness of the brake disk at several points along the generator. If necessary pierce the disc or replace it.
  10. Grease new protective covers of the guide pin grease for rubber components and stretch their fingers.
  11. Put the caliper body to the upper guide pin and turn it down, putting on the brake pads. Replace and tighten the bolt to the required torque lower guide pin.
  12. Connect the brake hose to the caliper and tighten the choke screw to the required torque.
  13. Bleed the hydraulic brake system.
  14. In five seconds, depress the brake pedal.
  15. Release the pedal and turn the front wheel hub ten turns.
  16. With spring balance to measure the force of resistance hub turning.
  17. Subtract the result from the first measurement result of the second to determine the braking force tacking. The maximum value of 5.7 kgf, when exceeded, look for jammed components and make necessary repairs.
