Disassembly Procedure

The easiest way to disassemble the engine and producing all kinds of work on a portable stand, specially designed for the repair of the engine. Such displays can often be rented. Before installation of the engine on the stand is necessary to remove the flywheel with the coupling mechanism to screw bolts of the stand into the engine block (crankcase).

If you stand there, then disassemble the motor can be strengthened it on a strong workbench or on the floor. At dismantling without the stand be very cautious during manipulations with the engine.

If you buy ready-rebuilt engine, it is first necessary to remove all hinged units to establish them subsequently precisely in the same manner as at independent major repairs. These units include:

- Generator, power steering pump and brackets, and (or) air conditioning compressor (depending on vehicle);
- The distributor of ignition, a candle and high-voltage wires;
- The water pump and the thermostat and radiator hoses;
- Details of the carburetor or fuel injection system;
- All sensors and solenoid valves with wiring;
- Intake and exhaust manifolds ;
- oil filter;
- Fuel pump - for gasoline engines;
- Details of the suspension of the engine;
- Flywheel / drive plate torque converter.

A warning

When removing from the engine of hinged units, with special attention concern those little things that can facilitate assembly of the engine. Put labels on linings, gaskets, spacers, pins, bolts, washers, nuts, etc., At assemblage to establish them in the same position.

If the block of cylinders of an incomplete complete set (ie, the cylinder block with a fitted and installed a crank mechanism and piston group), you should also remove the cylinder head, oil pan, oil pump and camshaft drive chain.

If you plan to carry out major repairs with full dismantling, it is necessary to completely disassemble the engine and remove the internal parts of the engine unit in the following order (unless otherwise see. subsection 3.1.1 and subsection 3.1.2.2.1).

- Inlet and exhaust manifolds;
- Oil pan;
- Camshaft drive chain with asterisks;
- Cylinder head;
- flywheel;
- Connecting rod and piston group;
- crankshaft.

Before dismantling and performance of procedures of major repairs, make sure you have all the necessary equipment and tools. The list of required tools is shown at the beginning of this manual.

Assembly Procedure

Before assembly, prepare all the necessary new spare parts, gaskets and seals, as well as the necessary tools and accessories. Check out the description of the procedures for the assembly to imagine the volume of forthcoming works and once again make sure you have everything you need. In addition to traditional tools and materials will also need a locking compound for threaded connections. It will also need a liquid sealant to seal the plug connections in which the installation gasket is not provided. The manufacturer recommends the use of liquid sealant Genuine Liquid Gasket (commercially available at service stations Nissan).

To save time and effort, the assembly is recommended in the following order:

- crankshaft;
- Pistons in gathering with rods;
- The cylinder head and tappets;
- Chain (s), timing;
- Oil pan;
- flywheel;
- Mounted units.

Before assembly, all parts must be thoroughly cleaned and dried, all defects are eliminated. Details should be put on a completely clean desktop (or kept in individual packages).
