Check the ignition coil

Check the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil

1 - the ignition coil;

2 - terminal "1";

3 - terminal "4";

4 - terminal "15"

The ignition coil fails very rarely. Check coil ohmmeter, measuring resistance of the primary and secondary windings in the following order:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire from "the minus" plug of the storage battery.
2. Disconnect the wires from the coil.
3. Inspect the coil. If it is cracked, replace the coil.
4. To test the resistance of the primary winding connected to an ohmmeter terminals 2 and 4. The resistance must be within 0,52-0,76 ohms.
5. To test the resistance of the secondary winding to connect an ohmmeter to terminals 3 and 2. Resistance should be within 2.5-3.5 ohms.
6. If the resistance is different from the coil, replaced. Note that the coil defects are not always cold, so if there is a suspicion that the coil is faulty, it is possible to replace it with a new test.
