Visit the distributor cap

1 Remove the cover from the distributor, wipe it from dust and inspect. The lid must be dry. Sooty 2 must freely move without jamming in the lid. High voltage terminals must be clean, they must show no trace of corrosion or burning out.

Contact with the inner side of the cover also should have corrosion and fading. The lid should not be chipping and cracking, as well as traces of the breakdown on the body of the distributor. The cover can not be repaired, and if it has at least one of the above defect, replace it.
