Adjustments high pressure fuel pump

Elements adjusting pump motors 1Y and AAZ
Fig. 3.22. Elements adjusting pump motors 1Y and AAZ: 1 - adjustment screw maximum speed; 2 - adjusting screw idle speed; 3 - stop screw adjustment of the minimum idle speed; 4 - stop screw adjustment of the maximum frequency of rotation of idling

Adjusting the pump is available for all diesel engines for model 1Z. Places adjustments pump shown in Fig. 3.22.
Maximum engine speed is measured using a special tachometer for diesel engines. This procedure is not recommended for engines on where you installed the old / with unknown resource timing belt. To measure the maximum engine speed, secure car parking brake, set the gearshift lever to neutral, warm up the engine and give the command assistant depress the accelerator pedal "on the floor." The value specified by the manufacturer maximum crankshaft speed is 5200 min-1. To avoid engine damage, do not allow it to operate at a maximum speed of more than three seconds. If necessary, adjust the maximum speed by loosening the lock nut and turning the adjusting screw 1 (see. Fig. 3.22). After the procedure, be sure to adjust the lock nut.

Nozzle

Fast engine speed to idle. To check fast idle speed, fully extend the handle of a cold start and, using a tachometer, ensure that the speed is increased to (1050 ? 50) min-1. If necessary, adjust the speed accelerated by loosening the lock nut and turning the screw 4 (see. Fig. 3.23).
Check the fuel injection start time as follows:
- Perform the necessary preparatory steps: disconnect the battery from the vehicle electrical system, install as described above, the first cylinder in VMT, check timing, adjust them if necessary;
- Unscrew the plug located in the rear of the pump and remove the gasket;
- Set the dial gauge plug hole (via the appropriate adapter) with a length measuring rod 100 mm;
- Setting a preliminary indicator displacement of about 2.5 mm, slowly turn the crankshaft for its pulley bolt counterclockwise;
- The crankshaft stop immediately, as soon as the moving arrow will stop and reset the indicator to zero with the preliminary displacement of 1.0 mm;
- Turn the crankshaft clockwise to re-establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead center;
- Consider indicator and compare it with the data table. 3.2;
- If the readings are within acceptable limits, a clear indicator of the high pressure pump, screw and tighten the drain plug with a new gasket;
- If the readings are outside the limits, adjust.
Adjusting the start time of fuel injection is carried out as follows:
- Loosen the bolts on the pump front and rear brackets (see. Above, which describes the removal and installation of the high pressure pump);
- Turn the pump body so as to achieve the set value on the dial gauge and tighten the bolts of the pump;
- Remove the dial gauge, screw and replace the drain plug, be sure to use a new gasket.
