Differential

Differential
Fig. 8.32. Differential: 1 - Flange half-line; 2 - a lock ring; 3 - a sealing ring of differential; 4 - a speedometer drive; 5 - a driven gear main gear; 6 - a box of differential; 7 - the bearing of differential; 8 - Compensation washer; 9 - a sealing ring of differential; 10 - a lock ring; 11 - the drive flange; 12 - the side gears; 13 - satellites; 14 - an axis of satellites; 15 - separator; 16 - a secondary shaft; 17 - a gear wheel drive of a speedometer; 18 - the bearing of differential

Differential Dismantling spend in the following order (Figure 8.32)
Thoroughly clean and inspect the differential. In the presence of wear or damage, replace it. When replacing the driven gear main transmission replace the secondary shaft, since they are consistent with each other;

Boring rivet fastening driven gear main gear to the differential housing
Fig. 8.33. Boring rivet fastening driven gear main gear to the differential housing

to remove the driven gear main gear, drill a 12 mm diameter drill rivets gear to the differential housing (Fig. 8.33) and remove the driven gear main gear. Protect differential bearings from metal shavings, which are formed by drilling. When installing the driven gear main transmission using special bolts and nuts;
puller, Xpress bearings from a differential box. Before removing the bearing pre-remove a speedometer drive;
a knockout of a soft metal hammer until it stops in the spring pin axis of satellites and by striking at the ends of the axis, beat out an axis of satellites from the box of differential;
Remove the box of differential satellites, side gears and a separator;
knockout soft metal beat out a spring pin of an axis of satellites.
Differential assembly sequence is as follows:
Check the condition of the differential;

Location of the spring locking pin (1) from the axis of satellites

grease separator with oil, place it in a box of differential. Insert the axis of satellites and satellites. Turn the pinion gear shaft so that the holes in the differential housing and an axis of satellites to install and align spring pin drive in the spring pin so that it went almost to the middle axis of satellites (Fig. 8.34);
set on two sides of the differential housing side gears so that the axis of the side gears coincide with the axis of the differential housing;

Location two guiding bolts (A) for the orientation of the driven gear when installing it on a differential box
Fig. 8.35. Location two guiding bolts (A) for the orientation of the driven gear when installing it on a differential box

insert two special bolt (Fig. 8.35) fixing the driven gear main transmission with two opposite sides in the differential case. Before installing heat the driven gear main gear to a temperature of 100 ? C and place it on a box of differential;

Location bolts driven gear final drive to the differential housing
Fig. 8.36. Location bolts driven gear final drive to the differential housing

install new special bolts (Fig. 8.36), nuts and lock washers and tighten the nuts regulated torque;
Install the speedometer drive gear and the new tapered roller bearings;
temporarily (without locking rings) set in the differential drive flange and check his work.
