Removing gearbox
Work is carried out on a pit or trestle. To remove the gearbox to remove the engine required. To keep the transmission use the support post. Removing the gearbox transmission sequence is as follows: disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery; Remove the drain plug on the gearbox and drain the oil from the gearbox to the appropriate amount of capacity after the oil drain screw back the drain plug; Install the support leg under the gearbox; Disconnect the gearbox; disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold and secure with a wooden support post or emphasis; Disconnect the cables pre-selecting gears and gear bracket and remove the cables from the top of the gearbox. The cables need not be disconnected from the bracket, but you need to move them to the side so that they do not interfere with transmission removal. On vehicles with hydraulic clutch: remove a cable and idler lever from the gearbox, in order to gain access to the slave cylinder; removing the clutch slave cylinder, tie it to the vehicle body wire; do not press the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder removed. By car with a mechanical cable-operated clutch: Remove the clutch cable to the shift lever and the stop; On vehicles with mechanical speedometer:
NOTE Due to the fact that to dismantle the hydraulic clutch is not necessary to remove air from the system will no longer be required. |
unscrew the plug and disconnect clutch cable of a speedometer from a transmission. On vehicles with electronic speedometer: Disconnect the electrical connector from the speedometer; remove the four screws on the upper transmission to the engine;

Unscrew the rubber rear left transmission mount (Fig. 8.5);
A WARNING If the vehicle is equipped with anti-lock brake system (ABS), access to the bolts fastening the rubber rear left support of a transmission difficult. To access the bolts, remove the coolant expansion tank. Gently pushing aside all hoses and wires, unscrew the bolt head on the long arm. |

Remove the nuts securing the front bracket of the engine (see. Figure 8.7) Fix the engine using the sling so that none of its elements are not subjected to stress. On cars with engines of 1.8 l DOHC remove the valve of adjustment of turns of idling at the end of the intake manifold, so that you can attach and secure the sling; remove the starter and the front bracket; Move the hose power steering rubber feet on the front bracket and fix them; unscrew the counterweight of the auxiliary frame; unscrew thermofilter inner right constant velocity joint; unscrew the left and right drive shafts to the inner side. Bolts shafts have heads with internal teeth, and their loosening is necessary to use the appropriate key. Tie up the shafts to a body; Turn away from the gearbox Transmission Mount and mounting bracket. The engine with manual slide as far as possible to the right and lift it;

Unscrew the bottom cover plate clutch housing and remove the cover; setting the support column under the gearbox housing, lift it so that the weight of the gearbox counter perceived; Remove the bolts of the bottom fastening of a transmission to the engine; mount wring out the transmission from the engine, push it down and pull out from under the car; press the release lever towards gearbox housing and secure with a pin or bolt M8h35 mm. After installing the gearbox, remove the screw cap and close the hole.
